For those who read my story 'Erika', remember how Erika tried to replicate Gabby's lost necklace?In Actual Character Development thread, I accepted this challenge for my main character Erika: "You have the chance to go back in time Days of Future Past style, this is, your consciousness will travel back to your younger self. To when would you travel, what would you change, and why would you change it?"
Erika closed his eyes before the blade swung down towards his neck.
The sting never came, instead, it was replaced by a very familiar giggle. Cautiously opening his eyes, his mouth fell open at the scenario before him.
"Why are you standing there like a rock, Erika?" Gabby giggled.
Erika took a look around, they were by the lake...
"You said you had something you wanted to give me, didn't you?" Gabby pressed on curiously. "I need to go back to prepare for my Mummy's birthday so I can't stay for long."
Erika frowned. That line... He remembered Gabby saying that when they met before he left. What was happening...
Erika quickly fumbled with his pockets, with a sense of deja vu. The necklace was in his left pocket.
Gabby gasped as she looked at the necklace in Erika's hand.
"This... to replace your lost necklace." He blushed, taking her hand and pressing the necklace into her palm.
Her face turned crimson red and Erika could not help staring as his heart beat faster.
In his memory, this was where he turned to leave but Erika could not let go of that hand. In a swift motion, Erika covered her eyes with his free hand and leant closer, placing a soft peck on her cheek. If only he was aware of that subtle fluttering in his heart all this time... this was what he would have done instead.
