This was one of my very very first story that I had written while I was very into Bleach, Naruto, and some other animes that I have not much recollection of and to top it off I'd been hooked on the Secret Seven book series and The naughtiest girl is monitor. I've lost the original book which I wrote it but it's funny that I still remember it actually :p (of course, now I'm twisting it to make it less goosebumpy and cliche. It was originally about a ninja boarding school that had an exchange programme at Hogwarts. But I don't think the start matches that so I'm being the gd doctor and switching swapping the headwith another body. Basically mix mashing two stories and swapping out the parts heheheh)

Ainu Heartwind (Gosh I was in love with this name, every single main character in my early short stories was stuck with the name Ainu!) opened the car door and placed her boots on the ground carefully before she stood up. Her books still sunk a little into the snow that was piling up.

Her bags were taken out by the driver and placed beside her before the driver quickly drove off, not wanting to stay a minute longer.

There had been tales lurking  in the city below, that this place was a haunted house, and the appearance of the abandoned mansion did nothing to rebuke the rumour.

It's quite surprising how such a rumour could lower the land value so drastically that this rotten place was actually cheaper than a flat in the city!

And that's how Ainu found herself stuck here. It was unbelievably cold outside, and probably so inside as well. The gates had needed more than a push, as if the place wasn't welcoming her at all. Ainu moved all her luggage in through the gate. It was a slow process, just to drag all her luggages to the door of the mansion, but she did it and her fingers were numb from cold already.

She wished she didn't believe in those ghostly tales and rumours. But just to be safe...

Ainu politely knocked onto the grand double door before opening it.

"If you... If you are really here, please forgive my intrusion, I'm the new owner of this place now." Her voice echoed around as she cupped her hands to say this, feeling very foolish as she did so.

Fingers crossed, she hoped it would be peaceful while she's here. A slight stir in the wind, like a cool chilly breeze, rattled the windows and gave her chills running down her spine.

She will not let those stories get to her. Ainu slapped her cheeks to force herself to get it together, and she quickly moved her luggages in. Closing the main doors made no difference in the temperature and rather than exploring, Ainu was more interested in getting a fire started so she could cook something and warm herself up. Each room she passed by was empty, and ridiculously dirty. It took quite a while before she found the kitchen, and a while more just to drag all her luggages into the big kitchen. By the time the sky was gradually darkening, Ainu finally managed to start a fire, though a lot of smoke was produced since the pile of woods she collected were damp with snow. The place really needed a lot of fixing.

Ainu was glad she had took up a survival course during her teenage years, or she definitely won't survive at all out here. The evening came with its own set of fear as the other rooms began looking as haunted as the romours said with the darkness.

Ainu didn't dare to even venture out of the kitchen. She was claiming this place to be her territory for the night and whatever ghosts out there had better stay clear. Just to be safe, Ainu slept with a pepper spray and stun gun in her hands as she stuffed herself into her sleeping back and made sure to layer blankets over blankets for warmth. It was pure luck that she could sneak out so many blankets from her landlord's house.

And that was how she spent her first day in the 'haunted' mansion. Ainu pressed her eyes close together, willing herself to not be scared of the shadows.

Now there's two version of how this will go down. A splitroad really, do you want a horror story kind? Or a adventure romance kind? I'm itching to continue to write but I wanna know where you want this to go. Tell me! First person to comment makes the decision!
