A Recusant Relationship

It's been a couple of days since the incident with Cate. You hadn't heard from her.
You walk to your favourite cafe down the street from your place before work.

You grab the door to walk inside but bump into a well dressed woman
"I'm so sorry"
You say

"No that was my fault, I'm sorry"
She says rubbing your arm

She's beautiful, in her 40's, hair just above her shoulders & her perfume is beautiful

"It's ok, you go first"
You say as you hold the door open for her
"Thank you"
She says with a smile, stepping inside

You line up behind her, she places her order & steps aside.

"Just the regular?"
The barista asks
"Yes please"
You say happily
"Won't be long"
She says, you stand waiting to pay
"I haven't paid yet"
You say confused
"The lady in front paid for you"
She says with a smile
"Oh ok thank you"
You say looking to the woman who is sitting at a table smiling at you.

You walk over to her
"Thank you very much for that"

"I had to make it up to you for running into you"
She says confidently

"You did not, but thank you again"
You reply

The barista brings over your orders, hers to have there & yours in a take away cup

"Would you like to join me?"
She asks looking at your cup reading your name
"Y/N, that's beautiful"
She adds

"I honestly would love to but I have to get to work"
You say

"How about another time?"
She asks

"That would be nice"
You say

"Im Katherine"
Katherine, really?!
She says, reaching out her hand that you shake
"Could I get your number?"

"It's nice to formally meet you Katherine.
Yes you can"
You say, she hands her phone to you, you go ahead & add your number

"Talk soon, thank you again"
You say before leaving

A short time later you arrive on set, heading directly to get food for Cate, the daily schedule & then to Cates trailer.

You knock
"It's y/n"
You say clearly

"Come in"
You hear the now familiar voice say, you open the door & step in
"Good morning"
She says

"Good morning"
You answer
"Here"
You say placing the plate of food on her bench along with your phone

You sit down on the floor in front of her to go over the schedule with her
"So first up we have to run scene 30 again, then after that we have some more takes of some various scenes they want to get, then break and we will have a new schedule after lunch"
You say

Your phone buzzes, Cate looks over reading the message aloud
"Cute butt too.. I'll be holding you to that breakfast. Hmm is that a girlfriend?"
She says, her tone slightly jealous

You feel the heat rising on your cheeks.
"Just a woman I bumped into at my regular cafe"
You say

Cates brows raise
"Ohh a woman from the cafe. And you got her number?"
She asks curiously, a hint of a jealous tone still lingering
