THE NIGHTMARE

My eyes caught the sky pitch dark,
I couldn't find the moon
It was a dense silent night.
I was all alone myself,
Standing at the edge of our terrace.
Suddenly I felt the urge to cry
But tears refused to roll down my cheeks!
I felt the urge to scream my lungs out
But as if I lost my voice at that moment.
Though there was no one around
But I could hear too many voices yelling
I didn't know where they were coming from.
My head felt heavy all of a sudden,
Some strange shadow figures approaching me
All of were throwing evil laughs at me
As if they were teasing me.
'Complaining I have no worth,
I can't make anyone smile,
I always disappoint my own people,
They can't share what's bothering them with me.
I'm responsible for their sorrow.
I'm hateful and the worst!
I do not belong here,
I've no right to survive,
I'm cursed. '
I wanted to ask what's my fault for these?
But there was no response
Just the constant loud voices!
I wanted to escape the chaos,
But I couldn't move
My whole body has got numb.
Those taunts were attacking me like sharp arrows,
Piercing deep into my heart.
I was hating myself the most!
Suddenly I woke up panting,
Realised it was again a nightmare
Still my hands were shaking, legs trembling,
But...my body was still numb!
Tired of this numbness,
Tired of these repeated nightmares
I looked at the window to feel the fresh breeze,
To find the moon, but there was none!
