If She Was Evil

Chap 11

"Would you like me to take you to your parents?" Marinette looked at Adrien. "Wait...you'd take me to them?" Adrien nodded.

"Of course!" Adrien replied. Marinette smiled.

"Let's go." Adrien got off the couch and held his hand out for Marinette to grab. Marinette blushed and grabbed his hand. He helped her off of the couch and led her outside.

They walked for a while, a few blocks down and came to a halt in front of a bakery. Marinette and Adrien stood in shock as they took in the scene. The place was trashed. The front door was torn open, stands were flipped upside down, and the cash register was thrown on the floor with money out.

Marinette walked into the mess. She slowly surveyed the place. Marinette suddenly clenched her fists. "Only one person could've done this," she said in a dangerously calm voice, "and that's EXACTLY who I'm going to see. He's going to pay..."

Adrien was confused. "Who?" He asked.

Marinette looked at him with an angry expression. "Hawkmoth, my kitty. Hawkmoth." Adrien's expression hardened.

Marinette turned back to the wreckage. Adrien walked up next to her and grabbed her hand. "I'm going to stand by your side, no matter what." Marinette got lost in his emerald green eyes again and nodded.

"Are you sure they're going to like it?" Ladybug questioned.

"Yeah, um I really don't know the answer to that, but I guess we'll see." Cat Noir winked at her. Ladybug rolled her eyes. "Really?"

"Hehe. Just wait, as long as you explain things, they'll believe you. Nino will most likely support you and believe you...Zoe might be harder to convince though." Ladybug groaned.

Cat Noir elbowed her. "Hey, if Zoe is reasonable and comes to her senses, then she'll believe you." Ladybug smiled weakly.

She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "Okay. Let's go." Cat Noir went through the doors and immediately was bombarded by Zoe and Nino. They threw their arms around him.

"Dude! You're back!"

"You were seriously starting to worry us." Cat Noir laughed. "I was only gone for around a day." Zoe pulled back. She circled him.

"Hmm. You're not arguing with us about being worried, you laughed after we embraced you...what are you hiding?" Nino pulled back as well. Cat Noir rubbed his neck.

"Here's the thing...we need your help." Zoe narrowed her eyes on him. "Who's US?"

Cat Noir motioned for Ladybug to join him. She walked sheepishly up next to Cat Noir. Zoe's eyes widened. "What the heck is she doing here?!?!"

"Listen, just hear me out-"

"FOR WHAT?! YOU BROUGHT A FREAKING CRIMINAL INTO OUR BASE!!"

"Zoe, maybe we should hear him out," Nino said. Zoe huffed and folded her arms. "Hmph."

"Go on dude er- dudette. Whoever's explaining." Cat Noir nodded and looked at Ladybug, telling her to explain.

She took a deep breath. "Look, I know you have no reason to trust me, but I kinda need your help. Before you say anything, I'm not with Hawkmoth anymore...no, I wouldn't be with that very-freakily-tall man. He lied to me and deceived me. Now he's taken my parents captive. And for as long as I've known him, he's going to expect me to come find them. But I can't take him on alone. Will you please help me? I mean, you are Paris' most famous heroes."

Zoe thought for a moment. "How do we know you're not trying to trick us?"

"Would someone who was genuinely sad about coming this close to finding her parents, only to find them taken as prisoners, really lie about this?" Nino shrugged.
