It had been a whole day since the rumble. A whole day since her best friend had been stabbed. A whole day since the jets disbanded. A whole day since Tony had been shot and killed by Chino. A whole day since she felt like she had lost a part of herself.
She sat alone in the house, it was quiet and it was cold. She was still in the same outfit from the rumble, blood from Riff still soaked on her jeans.
She had heard nothing. She knew what it meant. She knew he was dead.
The very word sounded wrong in her head. It didn't match with him. He wasn't supposed to die until they had lived a full life together.
And yet, he was dead.
And she felt like she was too. Her heart didn't beat as nicely anymore, he hair didn't sit right, she didn't want to do anything, everything would remind her of him.
She couldn't eat, the food was in the fridge and opening the fridge meant seeing the light and remembering how she would scold him for keeping it on.

It was early morning when Lisa walked into the kitchen still half asleep and saw the boy sat on the floor with the fridge open, using the light to illuminate the daily paper in his hands.
"What are you doing?" She yawns and he looks up to her with the softest smile on his face, one of pure innocence and goodness, her favourite kind of smile.
"I'm reading the paper"
"In the fridge light?"
"Yeah"
"Why?"
"Cause if I don't turn on the light, it means I'm saving you money on electricity" he smiles at her and she shakes her head.
"What do you think the fridge is running on?"
He looks at her before his face falls and he suddenly realises what she means before closing the door and walking over to her, pulling the girl into a hug as she lead him back to the bed.

-present day-

She smiles to herself at the memory before feeling the sinking notion take over again. She wanted to just go to bed but she didn't want to go back into her room. He wasn't there. He wasn't going to pull her into a hug as they dreamt of each other and they weren't going to dance to the sound of silence and would not so subtly pull each other closer.

It had been another stressful day for the pair as they sat in her room together. Riff had gotten into another fight which had ended with them arguing over him not staying safe on the streets. They were now sat together silently, the only thing connecting them being the way she was leaning on his shoulder. After a few minutes, he stands up and turns to her, grabbing her hand and pulling her up off the bed before placing his hands on her waist. He started to sway back and forth with her for a few beats before she places her hands on his shoulders and he immediately pulls her closer so that their bodies are pressed together. She closes her eyes as she leans her head on his shoulder whilst she moves and wraps her arms around his neck. It's in that moment that they find that they aren't mad anymore, but just upset at what had become of the night. She lifts her head up to look at him and sees his eyes are already focussed on her. She leaned forward on her tiptoes and they pressed their foreheads together as they stood in pure bliss. Riff was relieved to know that this is how they were resolving things, that this would be the thing to tie them back together.
After a few seconds they lift their heads to look at each other once more. He watched as her lips slightly parted with every breath she took and how the curly baby hairs were framing her face, showing off the true piece of art that she was. She could see his eyes glistening in the streetlight that was shining into the room and noticed how his hair had become fluffier as the night had gone on.
He couldn't take it, seeing her how she was stood so close. He was so in love with her and she still felt so far away. He didn't like it.
The memory of that night plagues her brain like a wonderful dream every day.
He was just staring at her for a minute before he moved forward and pressed his lips to hers quickly. She felt the emotions fizzle up inside her and knew her cheeks had turned red at the sudden contact.
The kiss was long and hard and full of so much urgency from the pair like they needed this to breathe.
He pulled back after a few seconds and stared at her before letting go and walking out of the apartment quickly.
They never spoke of that night again.
