CHAPTER ONE: 'happy birthday

NICKLAUS SWAN WAS WRAPPED IN A BLANKET, AN ARM AROUND HIM AS HIS HEAD LAY ON JASPER'S CHEST. Klaus had fallen asleep at the Cullen house, again. It had begun to get to the point where the Cullens were more surprised not to see him at their home.
Although Klaus had tried to actually leave the previous night, having wanted to spend his first birthday with Bella back home, actually back home, Alice and Jasper had distracted him.
Alice smiled widely at seeing the, still sleeping, Klaus. It was the other brunette's eighteenth birthday.
Alice looked over at the time before deciding that they couldn't let him sleep in any longer-if they did; they would be late for school-.
She placed her hand on his cheek, making Klaus jump awake. "Geesh, you do remember how cold you are, correct?" Klaus asked. "It's why I have two blankets."
Alice smiled widely back at him. "Happy birthday!" She excitedly yelled.
"What?" Klaus asked, pushing a hand through his messed-up hair. "Oh," he said, realizing before darting to grab his phone and searching Bella's contact name. She had sent a 'happy birthday' message; Klaus responded with one as well, hitting send before Alice dragged him off the bed.
