Choumi had thought long and hard about All Might's offer. The thought of attending a school was something she never payed attention to even after she was taken in by the Crystal Gems and was saved by Steven.
Her experience with school was never pretty because of her relatives, especially her cousin who made it a living hell.
The earth she grew up in didn't have quirks that changed a person's appearance. So being born with natural blue hair was clearly not seen as normal.
So when she was taken in by the Crystal Gems, she continued her education by being homeschooled by Pearl along with Steven.
'but' she couldn't help but think 'my appearance is considered normal here. . Maybe I can give school another shot'
"Absolutely not. If you want a license to use your powers and not be arrested for illegal 'quirk' usage you can just request one from the government." Thalia bluntly said towards the girl who came to suggest it.
"I'm not saying I'll go attend the hero school that All Might talked about to become a hero!" She clenched her fists "I just wanted to try attending a school again."
"Absolutely not. You still have to deal with the rogues."
"But Thalia" she didn't know where this stubbornness came from "I can just handle the base here, It's not like I have to be on the battlefield all the time! Even Yellow said I didn't have to and just managing the gems was enough!"
"You're only gonna get distracted or attached to this planet, and then what? You'll leave soon enough. It'll spare you the pains of losing your relationships with people here."
"Thalia please!"
"No means no! You are now a commander in the army, you shouldn't be acting like this! All your attention, your time and focus should be devoted here." The pearl slammed her hands on her desk.
Choumi looked down, avoiding Thalia's light blue eyes. Choumi silently walked out the room, not bothering to look back as she felt anger and frustration bubble inside her.

"So your guardian didn't allow you to attend school?" Melissa looked at the sulking girl beside her.
They were currently at the Young Shield's lab. Choumi had snuck off to visit Melissa and to avoid Thalia who would only just make her more frustrated.
"She's not my guardian. ." the blue haired girl muttered "honestly it's complicated, one second she's acting like a strict yet caring advisor, the next she's overbearing and controlling."
