A/n: This is a flashback to when they both confessed to each other and afterwards, which does include their wedding.

"Zero...Yuki...come here, I want to speak with you both before we separate forever." Kaname called out to them. The two younger vampires looked at each other briefly in worry, before quickly heading in Kaname's direction. Eventually reaching him, where he pulled the two into his arms. Kaname let out a shaky sigh, trying to calm himself in order to let the two know what transpired.

Yuki could practically hear the rapid beating of Zero's heart. Which is quite odd to her, yes, the two males are now pretty okay with each other, but to an extent Zero still dislikes him. Kaname soon got their attention, holding them closer to his body, "I...I'm going to sacrifice myself. I'm going to take out my heart and give it away so that anti vampire weapons could be made. It's...for the best. You two are good together, be happy and live a fulfilling life. Now, go. I will miss you both." Yuki nodded her head, reluctantly moving away and going away. But not before saying that she loves Kaname. Soon, it was just Kaname and Zero.

Kaname sighed tiredly, wishing that Zero left as well, he doesn't want to deal with the young vampire's mockery or bitter words. But to his surprise, Zero threw himself into his arms. He feels the other's tears fall down to his shoulders as his body shakes a bit with silent sobs. Zero soon whispered something, but Kaname couldn't hear. So he leaned closer and signaled for the other to repeat himself. When Zero did, what he said surprised Kaname.

"I love you, please don't die, do not go with this plan of yours! Please! My heart won't be able to bear your death!" Kaname raised a hand and gently took ahold of Zero's chin and lifted it up so that their eyes are locked on each other. He searched for any clue of a lie but ultimately found nothing. He then let his lips stretched to a small, soft smile. "I love you too, my darling. I love you too. Fine...I won't die, for your sake. I'm sure there is another way. Let's get out of this chaos, yes?" Zero nodded his head and accepted when Kaname stood up and lifted Zero into his arms, bridal style. "Oh yes, remember to tell Yuki about us, okay Zero? The love triangle is coming to an end today with our confessions to one another." Zero took a second before nodding his head again, promising that.

But, as their relationship went on, he forgot about that.

In the tenth year of the couple being together, Kaname proposed. You would think he would make some sort of grand gesture at a fancy restaurant surrounded by random people and remaining friends and family, right? But no, surprisingly, it was in the comfort of their own home. With the two of them wearing only their pajama pants, eating ice cream while watching a movie. Kaname suddenly moved away and got off the couch. Zero stood up as well, he was confused and was about to ask his lover what's up when he saw the other vampire go on one knee.

It took Zero a quick minute, but he eventually figured it out, causing tears to quickly form and spill down his cheeks. "Kana..." Kaname smiled softly and took out a small, velvet red box. He opened it, revealing a dark, midnight blue ring with three medium sized, black gems on top. Zero immediately became mesmerized by it's beauty, almost forgetting about his lover until Kaname started to speak. "Zero...believe it or not, I have always loved you. Even more so than Yuki, I just didn't know how to express it so I played along with this silly love triangle of ours. Also, at the time, you didn't like vampires. So I thought I had no real chance. But today, it's different. We love each other now. I want you with me for the rest of my life Zero. So please, will you marry me?" Kaname held his breath, hoping that Zero says yes.

Well, his wish came true.

Zero nodded his head and reached out to take the ring and slide it onto his own finger. He let out a quiet, husky chuckle as he pulled Kaname onto his feet and held him close. "You...just saved me a lot of trouble of embarrassing myself doing the same thing," he turned to the couch and placed his hand in one of the cracks, taking out his own small box, "so thank you. I love you, Kana." He opened the box and revealed a vibrant red ring with three, small and white gems on top. The ring that he always caught Kaname looking at in awe and with deep desire. Kaname smiled softly and took the ring, sliding it on his own finger.

"I..love you too, Zero. Always." The two engaged in a passionate embrace and soon locked their lips in a deep and equally passionate kiss.

Finally...the moment they've been waiting for has arrived.

"I pronounce you both as husbands, you may kiss."

Zero and Kaname gave each other a small but loving peck on the lips, saving the show for later and just the two of them. They imagined a large crowd cheering them on instead of the few present who know that the lovers are alive. The whole wedding, especially the reception, was a total success. Everyone went home satisfied and the new.y wedded couple made love throughout the rest of the night under the shining, twinkling stars and moon.

A few weeks after the wedding and rather 'short' honeymoon, Zero became pregnant. He immediately ran towards his husband and jumped into his arm, elated as he shared the news. The couple did whatever they could to stay healthy and protect the pregnancy as much as possible. But then one day, when Zero was in his fifth month of pregnancy, he suddenly felt sick. It was as if it was the first trimester all over again, but a bit more worse and weird.

Kaname tried giving him tea or have Zero rest and stay constantly hydrated. But whatever they did, it didn't work. So Kaname whisked Zero away to the emergency, making sure to hide any evidence of them being vampires. After begging doctors to see his husband as soon as they can, which they quickly complied, the couple was told a terrible news some time later.

This whole time Zero had been oddly sick, was because he miscarried.

Almost immediately after receiving the news and going home once everything was clear and okay, Zero fell into a deep depression. That stubbornness he always had, whether it was playful or serious, was gone. He felt emptiness but despair at the same time, except for the rarest of moments, Zero was completely submissive to Kaname and explosive to the few people they know and care about. Kaname soothed Zero and supported him in anyway he could, trying his best to be the best husband to Zero he could be. Though he never got pregnant himself, he can understand the pain.

The pain of losing a child, who died inside you.

Kaname can clearly see that Zero probably felt worthless and pathetic for not being able to carry a baby to full term and give Kaname an 'heir.' That he felt like he is not worthy of being a mother and having a family. Despite Zero's small pleas, Kaname insisted on waiting. Zero listened and one and a half years later, they tried again, but failed. It happened again for the third time.

At that point, Zero already gave up. He is a very fertile man, but for some reason, he can't sustain a pregnancy. What kind of husband is he if he can't even provide his husband a child? At this point, Zero wouldn't be surprise nor fight Kaname if his husband decide to divorce him. When he spoke these fears, among others, to his husband, Kaname could only let out an exasperated sigh. He cupped Zero's face in his hands lovingly, "Your worth as husband, as a person, is not based on whether you can give birth to or create children. You're the rarest and most precious treasure in my life. I will love you even if we remain childless. Besides, we can always adopt one day. I know you wouldn't mind but would like a biological child of your own, I understand that. Please don't despair, darling. The last time you were in a dark place...I was afraid that I was going to lose you." Then, all Kaname did was hold him.

He held Zero for as long as his love needed him to.

Zero sighed in content as he lets himself be held as if he was precious. He could feel Kaname's love for him, the truth in his words.

Kaname is his safety and his anchor.
