Two halves of a whole(Vampire Knight Story)

Chapter 3: Zero is missing

It was now morning and Zero was nowhere to be found. Yuki decided to stay longer, at least until Zero comes back. She learned from a snippy Kaname that him and Zero have been married for a very long time. That he is also two months pregnant with their first child. He is excitedly to be a parent and to give Zero a child to carry on their name and legacy. But he is also doing this in order to expand his husband's lifespan.

"Unless this baby is born, he has only a hundred years left to live. This may seem like a lot to humans but to us vampires...it's not. Like you said when talking about your son, Koi, in a blink of an eye, many years have already passed. It's as if you've been asleep or just got lost to the point of not tracking time anymore. The other option would take too long, I don't have that kind of patience for the one I love." Kaname said, staring into space.

Yuki hummed and sat down next to him on the ground near the tv. "I'm a bit slow, my apologies. But what does having a baby have to do with the extension of a lifespan?" Kaname sighed impatiently but explained anyway. "It really does depend on the type of vampire and the rank of either one or both parties. Zero has now become a Level D vampire, as you already know. But yet, he is very powerful and impressive in his own right. Anyways, a baby between us can expand the lifespan of the one in most danger because of the share in DNA of both parents and the world's belief that parents should be present for their children as long as possible. Desirably, until the child is an adult themselves. It's some weird magic thing at the end of the day, Yuki. That's all I know." Yuki nodded her head and didn't push for more.

She does know about the other option though, "Actually...the other option might not be as long and difficult as you may think. I have gathered the ingredients for the most powerful version and made sure to keep them fresh and long lasting. It's where you can become a pureblood just by drinking it and erasing any sign of human DNA. I just don't know how to make it." Kaname became very interested and took Yuki's hand.

"I know how to make it, give the ingredients to me."

Zero woke up in a area only consisting of the color white. He sat up frantically and looked around. How long has he been sleeping on the outdoor bench? Zero took out his watch and saw that the night has passed and it's nine thirty in the morning. Fuck, he didn't mean to sleep for that long. Now Kaname will be pissed off at him even more.

"Don't cry now, big brother. You have a visitor..."

The white haired man slowly turned around to see none other than his beloved brother, Ichiru. His eyes started to tear up as he approaches his (platonic)other half. Once he got close, he slowly lifted up his hands to cup Ichiru's cheeks. "Ichiru... I missed you so much." Ichiru smiled and wrapped his arms around Zero's neck, placing his forehead gently against his. "I missed you too brother...but you shouldn't be dreaming right now. As much as I loathe the man, you need to go back to him. I have a feeling he's suffering without you and is about to do something he will regret." Zero arched an eyebrow in confusion.

Ichiru looked up into the sky, "Let's just say...he has now found you and is about to give you a suspicious looking drink," he moves his arms to push Zero's head down onto his shoulder, cradling it and giving his forehead a quick kiss before saying this, "So Zero... WAKE UP!"

Zero snapped open his eyes, finding his head on someone's lap just as a cup filled with blue liquid almost touched his slightly parted lips. So this must be the drink that Ichiru told him about. "Kaname...what are you doing?" The hand froze before moving the drink away. "Zero...welcome back. I'm glad you're awake now, I missed you and I'm sorry. For the rudeness I showed you last night." Zero looked at the drink his husband placed down.

"What drink is that?" He asked.

Kaname took a second before answering, "A type of juice, that can help you."

Suddenly, another voice came in scene and yelled out, "Kaname! Have you found Zero and given him the potion?" Kaname cursed under his breath just as Zero's suspicious gaze turned into a cold glare. He grabbed the other's hand quickly and gave it a painful squeeze. "You're very lucky that you're pregnant, Kuran. I would've sent you to Pluto! Since when did it occur to you that I would so gladly become a fucking pureblood? Huh?! I value my life! Death is apart of life you fucking stupid vampire! If I am damned to die in a hundred years then so be it! And besides, it's not like purebloods are immortal or anything! They have a damn limit! I am so royally pissed at you right now, Kuran!" He then stopped when he took in Kaname's pained face and watery eyes.

Zero softened his glare and sighed, bringing Kaname's head down to place a soft kiss on his nose. "I know you don't want me to die, but I will have to someday. Us having the baby will probably give us an additional hundred years, making it two hundred years until my inevitable death. But Kaname, aren't you happy that we have been married for nine hundred years? Nine HUNDRED, Kana. Not everyone makes it to that, marriage and life wise." Kaname couldn't hold back the tears and gave up, letting them freely fall down like waterfalls and drench his cheeks.

"Oh baby, don't cry..." Zero whispered as he felt some of those tears fall on his own cheeks. Kaname kissed him deeply for briefest of moments before slowly pulling away. "I-I don't know if I can take it when it's time for you to go. Zero...you're my life! If you die, I die. I cannot live without you." The two men have long since forgotten about Yuki standing there, watching on with a small but satisfied smile on her face. Zero cradled Kaname's face with both hands.

He kissed him again, "I know you can."

Zero sighed once more and started planting kisses all over Kaname's face, "You would do it for the baby, after all..."

Kaname adores children.
