Before they both knew it, Kaname reached his second month of pregnancy. So far it's been living hell, the constant vomiting, mood swings, tiredness, headaches and more, Kaname just wished that this is over already. And poor Zero, his husband is literally getting a workout everyday from running around and sweating like crazy. One moment he comes running to Kaname if his love is feeling unwell again and in the next moment, he is running away from him. Either to get his craving foods or escape his wrath in order to keep his life.
For those two months though, Kaname hasn't been outside. He only knows what's happening in their world and society in general through Zero or the news either on tv or on his phone. Those things fascinate Kaname, when Zero gave him one, he literally almost broke it when a voice called Siri called out to him. "Hello." She would say robotically. Kaname then would look at the phone quizzically before saying 'hello' back. Then he would casually start a conversation with her as if he didn't almost shit his pants earlier.
One day, Zero was holding Kaname in his arms, who was in a deep slumber after an hour of vomiting once more. He was scrolling through Instagram when he got a knock on the door. His purple eyes quickly darted up to the clock, six thirty in the evening. He carefully moved Kaname and laid him down in the bed before putting on his slippers and heading downstairs. When he opened the door, his heart felt like it stopped for a second. There in front of him is none other than Yuki, as in Yuki Cross. The girl at some point, Kaname and him fought over. The girl who doesn't even know that Kaname and Zero are together because Zero forgotten to do so after Kaname asked him to do it hundreds of years ago.
Yuki smiled brightly when she saw his face, "Zero, hello! I missed you so, so much! How have you been? Also, have you seen Kaname lately? I haven't seen him around ever since that day he almost sacrificed his life." Zero took a sharp intake of breath. Oh yeah, the day he never wanted to remember again. But every time it resurfaces either randomly or in this case, someone mentioning it, the images play in his head clearly. It was as if it happened all over again. His heart ached when Kaname pulled him and Yuki close, saying how the two are good together. He wanted to scream and shake Kaname in anger to show the daft pureblood how dumb he was. Yuki eventually left, leaving Zero and Kaname by themselves.
Zero remembers throwing himself right into Kaname's arms and holding him tightly, begging him not to do what he's thinking of doing with tears streaming down his face. That is where they professed their love for one another, and where, Kaname kissed him. Suddenly a semi cold hand patted his cheek quickly, bringing Zero back to reality. He looks down at Yuki, "I'm sorry, come inside. It's nice seeing you too." Yuki thanked him and walked inside as Zero closes and locks it, taking off her boots at the door.
"This looks very nice, and very big! Are you sure you need this? It could most definitely fit more than one person." Zero shrugged and started humming. Yeah, there is definitely another person here, the one that Yuki knows and adores. Zero went inside the kitchen and turned on the lights, gathering materials and ingredients for tea. "Would you like some tea Yuki?" The young looking woman smiled kindly and nodded her head in gratitude.
He remembers her favorite and starts making that, as he was doing so, the two recounted the many memories they shared. The good, bad and ugly. With those not so happy ones, the two were able to get clarity from each other's point of view and come to an understanding. When Zero finally finished making the tea, he set aside two cups and carefully poured the tea in both of them. One for her and one for himself. He placed the kettle pot down and brought the tea over, sitting next to the vampire. Zero watches as Yuki took small, slow sips and hums in delight. Making him smile a bit, feelings of fondness resurfacing.
But that is when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs and grumbles from a certain vampire. "Zero you...you...ugh! You know that I'm having trouble sleeping and need your support and here you are, leaving me all by...huh? Wait...Y-Yu-Yuki?!" Everyone froze and was in a state of shock. Well, Zero in a state of shock and nervousness. Yuki was looking at Kaname, Kaname was looking at her and Zero kept switching between his friend, who is also his old crush, and his husband.
Yuki then broke the silence and glanced at Zero in confusion, "K-Kaname has been here the whole time? That's why you were hesitating earlier...if I may, I need to know what's going on." Zero sighed and looked down at his fumbling fingers. He was about to answer when Kaname abruptly stood up and roared out one word, "YOU!" It may have been just one word but it spoke so many volumes and sent a clear messaged to Zero. In Kaname's eyes, he royally fucked up. Zero didn't even have to ask what's going on, he already knows.
Zero slowly stood up and reached out a hand to Kaname, "I-I forgot, Kana. That's the truth, honest." Kaname glared at him, "Liar...you just didn't want to tell her. Why is that? You feel ashamed of being with me? Does it have to do with our past where we both were pining for her? Tell me Zero!" Yuki became even more shocked at the revelation where Zero just stayed quiet, not knowing what to say. Kaname sat down, waiting. But again, didn't hear anything from his husband. Not having anymore patience, he scoffed and got up, heading towards the stairs. "The name suits you, there is no worth to you. I'm out of here, make yourself at home Yuki. It's nice seeing you again, sorry that it ended up like this. What a mess..." With that, Kaname practically leaped past many steps and reached upstairs, heading back inside the bedroom.
Again, the reign of silence came back with full force this time. Yuki glanced at Zero worriedly, who was now hiding his face from her. After a while, Zero got up and went to the closet to get his coat and hat. "Yuki, can you stay here for a bit longer? I'm going for a walk." He asked quickly, trying to hide the shakiness in his voice. Yuki knew right then that Zero is not okay but needs his space. She nodded her head, "Of course Zero. It's no problem, just come back okay? And stay safe." Zero didn't say anything back as he left the house.
