(Dipper pov)

I sit on the ground of the cave hugging my arms to myself feeling the tears rolling down my cheeks. It isn't fair. It's not my fault that I can't sing like everyone else, I didn't ask to be born this way. I try harder then anyone to sing but it just ends up the same. The only thing that comes out is a voice that no one on wants to hear. Even the lowliest scum of the ocean wouldn't want to hear my voice.

"Ow!" I look at my tail seeing a crap pinched it with its pinchers. "Okay okay I get it, you stupid jerk." I flick the crab away as I leave the cave.

I look up towards the surface of the water. I'm near an island that no one lives on, no one even comes to this part of the ocean because they're too scared.

Swimming up my head breaks the surface of the water, my wet hair hanging in my eyes. I run a hand through my hair to get it out of my face as I look towards the abandoned island. Since no one comes near the island I used to always come out here. It was my one safe place where no one else could find me. Where I could just be away from the world. Maybe instead of just sulking in the sea, I can find a way to live the rest of my life on the island. Hell, maybe if humans ever come out this way I can pretend to be one.

I get pulled out of my thoughts as I feel a stinging pain in my arm making me cry out and clutch my arm. I turn around and my eyes widen in horror seeing a giant ship sailing towards me. Not just any ship either, but a pirate ship.

A man on the ship aims a crossbow at me but another man, maybe the captain, grabs the crossbow from him. "You fucking idiot! I said catch the damn thing alive!"

His golden eye meets mine, and I feel a chill run down my spine as a slight smirk appears on his lips. Not knowing what else to do I dive back under the water frantically trying to get to the cave again. If I can just hide in there then they won't be able to get me.

Just as I'm about to reach the cave a cannonball flies past me and smashes the cave to rubble. I gulp nervously as I look up at the ship again. I have nowhere to go. My only hope is that I can reach the island now but even that is a low chance. I won't be able to swim as fast with my arm hurt like this.

But I have to at least try.

I furiously swim towards the island, keeping myself in the water the whole time so they won't be able to get a clear shot of me again. I'm almost to the island when net and chains are wrapped tightly and painfully around my arms and tail making me unable to swim an further.

The current still washes me up on the island's shore my tail still in the water, but it doesn't even matter anymore. I struggle trying to get at least one arm free but every tiny movement just makes the chains and net tighter, making me cry out in pain.

I look up and see the catapin making his way towards me, his blond hair and red coat blowing in the wind and a black eyepatch over his right eye.

He takes his sword out in a flash and puts the tip right against my throat. "You so much as open your mouth, and I will not hesitate to gut you right here and now." Not wanting to die I remain silent as a man in purple attire stands besides him. "Gag him, Tad."

The purple clothed man walks behind me, tying a cloth over my mouth making me unable to talk even if I wanted to. The blond puts his sword back in it's scabbord before he kneels down grabbing a fistful of my hair. "You can understand me, correct?" I give a small nod yes, scared out of my mind. "Good. So let's get one thing straight. Do as I say and don't piss me off. Then you won't get hurt." He stands up still holding my hair in his hand as he painfully drags me on his ship.

Once on the ship he drops me on the floor of it, my head hitting the ground hard making me groan in pain. I see everyone looking at me but everything hurts and I feel so tired that all noise around me fades as I close my eyes.
