He remembered the feeling. Millions of souls vanishing into thin air. A few billion thoughts silenced in a second. The constant noise of thousands of thoughts that lay within the barricades of his mind turned soft. It was if the world had come to a stand still only for chaos to ensure seconds later.

He had been in his village when it had happened. The awareness of the fight between Thanos and the avengers breaching his mind though he refused to pay it any attention. Human matters had never been his problem, no matter how much he longed for them to be. He payed them no mind. That was until members of his village started to vanish before his eyes.

Druig remembered the screams when it happened. The despair that oozed off of every soul he encountered subsequent to the snap. He remembered the memorials. The crying and though for the next few years he had shut himself away to escape from the sorrow that had struck the human race —and the guilt—the pain that he had sensed refused to leave him. As if the entire world had been showered in misery.

 It was unescapable.

Until it had been reversed.

Druig had felt a similar feeling of chaos the day everyone was brought back. The same feeling he had felt the day everyone had disappeared. Only this time the feeling that stayed with him was a mixture of happiness and confusion. The happiness that flowed through those who had been left behind and the confusion of those who had been brought back soon to be shrouded by the excitement of their loved ones.

The happiness of the masses drowned out the continuous feeling of despair of the few.

Not once had he thought of those who had lost more than gained when Tony Stark snapped his fingers.

That was until he had seen her.

He had never asked her about the avengers. About her life before she had bumped into him on that rainy evening in New York. About who she had lost. He knew of course, it was common knowledge, yet he waited for her to tell him. For her to feel comfortable enough with him to let the facade she held steadily fall.
