I had woken up earlier than usual. I walked into the living room and sat on the couch. Two or Three hours later, Bucky came into the room. I never had a conversation with him. I don't think we've ever said a word to each other.
I only read for 2 minutes until Bucky looked at me and said, "Hi". I looked up from my book. The first word. He said his first word to me. "Hey", I said.
"Are you always up this early?" Bucky asked.
"This is the longest I've been up. What about you? Are you alway up this early?" I asked.
"Once in a while, I'd get up very early",He said. I nodded. I was...shy around him. Normally, I know what to say to people, but Bucky, this is the first time we've spoken to each other. This is the first time we've said a word to each other.
I knew Dad was still trying to forgive him for killing my grandparents, but there was still a tense atmosphere between them. But that's not why I never talk to him. I always felt like we've met before Steve found out he was alive. And like I said, I'm nervous around him. It was as if I had my own Peter tingle, but this...Leya tingle told me when I should and shouldn't be nervous around somebody.
Bucky looked at the book that I was reading. "Whatcha reading?" Bucky asked. I looked down at my book.
"Twilight", I said.
"What's it about?"
"A uh...a girl moves into her father's home. She goes to this new school and she falls in love with a boy named Edward, who turns out to be a vampire",I explained. Why was I so nervous? I mean, I've never met him, but being nervous isn't my speciality.
"You like vampire stories?"
"Uh, yeah, I prefer to read them at night though. To build more suspense".
To be honest, it was nice to talk to him. And he was a great listener. I mean, Nat and Loki were great listeners. And Tony was a great listener...most of the time.
Peter came in the room. He looks at me. Then, Bucky. He looks back at me. "Um...Mr. Stark wants you in the lab",Peter said to me. I nodded. I stood up and walked out of the room.
