Me and Peter cooked breakfast for everyone as if we were a married couple, cooking for our children.
"Are you guys going to get married someday?" Jack asked.
"Jack. Of course they'll get married. Look at them. They're happy", Amora said. I smiled at them. It was nice for Jack to have someone close to his age.
Me and Peter served breakfast. "Hope you like them", I said. Everyone ate breakfast.
"Leya, this is good", Amora said.
"Where'd you learn how to cook?"Natasha asked.
"Believe it for not, I'm self taught", I said. Me and Peter joined everyone and ate our breakfast.
"This reminds of a time, when Leya was 5, she tried to cook. It wasn't a bad cake, it was just too much sugar",Tony said. "Instead of calling it a cake, she called it a-"
"Kekc", Bucky interrupted. We all looked at him in shock.
"How'd you know that?" Tony asked.
"It's uh...lucky guess", Bucky said.
"You're lying", I said. Everyone looked at me. I stood up. "How'd you know that?"
Bucky doesn't answer. He tried to stand up, but Pietro was next to him in less than two seconds.
"Barnes, tell the truth or I'll let both of the Starks murder you", Pietro said.
"No, it's just gonna be me if he doesn't start talking", I said as I walked towards Pietro and Bucky.
"No one's murdering him", Wanda said.
"Oh, is my little sister in love?" Pietro taunted.
"I will murder you if you don't shut up",Wanda snaps.
"The only one who's going to kill someone around here is me and my husband", Natasha said.
"Stop!" Luke shouted as he stands up. "Nobody's murdering anybody. Stark, other Stark, Nat, Pietro, stop trying to kill Bucky. Wanda, don't kill your brother".
"Get to the lab now", I said sternly. Bucky followed me to the lab. Bucky sits down. I grabbed the helmet. I put it on his head.
"Leya, don't", Bucky said.
"Will you tell me?" I asked. Bucky doesn't answer. I started the machine. A memory came on the screen.
The Winter Solider was on a mission. He walks into an old HYDRA base. He heard noise coming from down the hallway. As he walks down the hall, the noise gets louder. It sounded like a baby crying.
At the end of the hall, there was a baby wrapped in a baby blanket. Bucky picks up the small baby girl.
"Anything, Soldat?" A HYDRA agent asks.
"No, nothing", Bucky said. The Baby in his arms calmed down. She smiled at him.
I took the helmet off his head. Bucky looked around to see the Avengers in the room with us.
"Who was that baby?" I asked. Bucky doesn't say anything. "Do I have to force the truth out of you to get an answer?" I shouted.
"Leya, maybe you shouldn't-" Bruce started, but I cut him off.
"I don't want to hear it!" I snapped. I have had a rough week. My friend died. The last thing I need is for a secret to be kept from me.
"Leya", Amora said, but I didn't answer her.
"Don't keep these secrets from me. You of all people, Bucky, know I don't need any secrets", I said.
"Leya..." Peter started, but I put the helmet back on Bucky's head. Another memory came in.
A HYDRA agent held the baby in his arms. The baby girl cried. Bucky stood in front of him. "Let her go", Bucky said.
"To be honest, I never expected this type of behavior from you. You're the Winter Solider. Not a father to...this",The HYDRA agent said.
"Let her go. She's an innocent child",Bucky said.
"Let's see what Strucker has to say about your betrayal", The HYDRA agent said. Bucky snaps his neck. He grabbed the baby, who continued to cry.
"Shh, you're okay. You're okay", Bucky said. Below the baby's cheek, there was a cut. "You can't stay here. As long as you're here, you're not safe".
The baby looks at him. She reaches out to touch his cheek. "As long as I'm with you, you're not safe", Bucky said. "I never gave you a name. How irresponsible of me". Bucky laid her in a basket, along with her light green blanket. "Back in my day, well, after I went into ice, they made a movie and in it was a princess. She was beautiful, fierce, caring and she was a brave leader. Her name was Leia. The name is perfect for you".
Bucky takes the helmet off his head. I didn't say anything. I looked in the mirror. I saw a faded bruise on my cheek.
"Leya", Bucky said.
"You found me, you saved me for god knows how many times, you gave me my name and you killed a HYDRA agent, something a Winter Solider couldn't do, just to keep me alive. Something that would've killed you if you had gotten caught. Why didn't you tell me? Did you think I would hate you for that because I don't. You could have told me, Bucky", I said.
"It doesn't bother you that an agent of HYDRA, the Winter Solider, found you? What if I had killed you, Leya? You could've died", Bucky said.
"I didn't. You took care of me", I said.
"If HYDRA had erased my memory...". I didn't care what he said. I won't hate him. "You would've saved me. Like you did the first time and the second and I bet there was a fifth time. I won't hate you", I said. I hugged Bucky.
"Leya, you weren't safe with me. I couldn't keep you", Bucky said.
"I know", I said.
Steve walked towards us. "So, do I call you Uncle Steve?" I asked him, sort of jokingly. Steve smiles at me.
"Sure, kiddo", Steve said.
"So, I have three dads now? That should be a record, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, except, I'm Dad numbers 1",Tony said.
"No, you're Dad number 2. Loki is the reason she exists", Natasha said. Everyone agreed with that. Everyone except Tony.
