I'm sorry, I'm not sorry

I sat in bed. Peter stood next to my bed. He was about to walk out of the room, but I asked, "Why did you come back?" Peter turned around and looked at me. "You've been gone for almost a month, not answering my calls or my texts. And now you show up, dressed as a guy who rides a motorcycle. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the look, but it's not a Peter Parker look".

"I left because there were people threatening to hurt you. And I couldn't let that happen. I'm here because I love you, Leya. Even if you don't love me back", Peter said.

"Peter...", I started. I got out of bed. I kissed him. "I love you". Peter looked at me in shock. "I didn't tell you, not because I didn't love you, but because I was afraid to love. I'm sorry".

"About what?"

I took off Peter's jacket. "I'm sorry that it took me a month to realize it's okay to love. I'm not sorry that we had to spend a month apart because it taught me something. When you love someone, it's hard to let go. When you love someone, you learn pain because in order to love someone, you have to know it's hard to loose them. I can't loose you. I'm not sorry for being in love with you", I said. "I love you, Peter".

Me and Peter kissed each other. "I love you, Leya", Peter said.

"And I love you", I said.

We kissed each other. I used my powers to close the door. We both fell back onto the bed as we kissed each other.

I pushed him into a wall and we kissed each other.

I stopped. "It's going to fast. Wait. We can't do this. We can't have...this on the day that my best friend died. It's wrong", I said, pacing around my room. "And...I'm not ready".

"When you're ready, I will be too", Peter said. He was about to leave the room, but I grabbed his hand.

"I don't want you to go", I said. "Stay. Please. TV has to be better than homework". Me and Peter kissed each other. I used my powers to turn on the tv.

We got into bed and watched The Mandalorian as we ate popcorn. I fell asleep with my head laying on Peter's chest. As I dreamed, it was like all the pain I had ever felt was no longer there. Like it never existed.
