tunnels

going into a tunnel
all of a sudden
you were just enjoying the view
and without a warning
it got dark
and now your figuring out
a way to see
but it's pitch black
not a glimpse of light

ah, wait. no.
there are the reflections
on the windows of the train
allowing to see yourself
and the mess you're in
the mess you are

but it doesn't let you look past
you don't see the entry
nor the exit
but you know
that somewhere
sooner or later
there will be light
there will be an exit
you're not alone
there a people on the train
to help you out

then
as sudden as the tunnel came
you get out
it spewed you into the sunlight again

but wait.
no.
you just didn't see the slow approaching light
that was appearing
slowly but steady
it got lighter
dimming the darknes
you were dreaming
dreaming yourself away
into galaxies
far far away
it must be just as dark there

first things you see
are mountains
and blue skies
with a few fluffy clouds
things that make you genuinely happy
and you're happy you're out of the tunnel
but only for a short moment

then you realize
that there are mountains
a thing which made you so happy before
but the thought
of more tunnels to come
not knowing how long they will be
it frightens you
but you try to stay calm
green meadow
green tree
green seat
green backpack
green car

somehow you know
that there are people on the train
some might step out at the next possible station
too afraid of the tunnels
but some will stay.
hold onto those
who hold onto you.
