Your P.o.V
It's been a few hours since my shift started and I'm exhausted already. Not to mention it's Trevor's first day and he's been teased so much. The manager wanted me to help him out a bit so now I'm going to help him in inventory. Walking in, I see him shivering and counting the boxes. I can't help but laugh at the poor boy, I mean I do feel bad for him, but it's funny too. Turning on the radio just outside the door, 'Wait A Minute Girl' by The Newday starts playing. He looks over at me, shivering in the cold. I sit on a stool next to him and pick up the plastic tub filled with burgers. "This will be faster and more fun with two people. So tell me new kid, what part of town did you move to?"
"Oh, thanks for the help. Me, my sister and my mom moved into this creepy old house on a farm that's miles from here," wait- dirt farm? "It was my grandfathers but he died, we got evicted and now we live here." Holy shit I did not expect that. And he said it so casually too.
"Hey I'm sorry man, for your grandfather, the eviction and that people will bully you about the dirt farm," comforting people isn't something I'm good at, especially for multiple things. He seems to be ok with it and tells me he didn't know his grandfather, or that he's surprised at the shithole they live in now.
"I mean, there are a load of old crappy cars there, so if I can find one that is fixable, I'll spend most my time on that." Nodding, I let him continue about the cars. While he talks, I take the time to look at him properly. Long curly dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, tall and lanky, generally very pretty. He has a lot of freckles on his cheeks too. The way he seems to be more relaxed and happy when he talks about cars is kind of cute too. Hell no we cannot be thinking like this already. I only met the guy yesterday. I can admit he is attractive, but nothing more than that right now.
"S-so, is there anything that people can do for fun?" I laugh and point out that this place barely has signal. We make small talk for a while and eventually fall into comfortable silence. Trevor splits and counts the frozen burgers and I count the burger buns when Lucky walks to the door.
"Hey, no-skills. How's inventory?" She waves at me and I nod my head in greeting before continuing.
"Oh, hey, how's it going? No, it's not good." Trevor shivers and shakes his head quickly. "It's not good at all. Um... Does everyone do this?"
"Yeah, it's super important." Lucky states sarcastically. I bump my shoulder with his and smile, trying to tell him that we are doing a good job. I look at Lucky and mouth 'be nice'. "You okay? Your lips are literally blue."
"Yeah, I'm f-fine." This dumbass is shaking so bad, honestly I would give him my hoodie but it's too small.
"You should borrow my hoodie." The older girl takes of the hoodie she's wearing and walks over. I can't see it properly but it looks familiar. He tells her it's fine, and I grab the hoodie from Lucky and basically put it on him. "It's really masculine. It's got a wolf on it. Trust me."
As he puts he arms in, I realise where I've seen it. "Okay. I'm actually kind of surprised it fits me." I try not to laugh as Lucky smirks at me.
"Yeah, it's my boyfriend's, actually." Trevor quickly takes it off and makes an uncomfortable sound. Poor kid, got a job just for a cute girl and she's taken. Lucky walks away as the kitchen boys laugh. "Back to inventory."
Time Skip
We finally finished our shift and now we are heading out the diner, about to go home. Or Trevor is. It's still bright out so I want to stay out for a while before heading home. "I know this is kinda weird but could I come see what cars you have? I've wanted to see dirt farm and the cars but never had a reason to," I turn to Trevor, hoping he'd say yes.
"Uh, sure. It might take a while though, we have to walk." We begin our walk to his house and I ask him what kind of cars he has there. After working the last few hours together in the cold, we seem to have bonded fairly well.
We walk for thirty minutes before we reach the driveway. "Holy crap, I'm actually going to the dirt farm," he chuckles at me and pushes me forwards. I squeal dramatically before shoving him back. "Oh you are so on dirt boy!" He laughs and starts running, me not far behind.
