Trevor's P.o.V

"It's not that impressive Trev-" I jump up and pull (Y/n)s face towards mine. Oh fuck, her face is warm and her eyes are gorgeous. I can see on her face that she's thinking, probably wondering what I'm doing. Gazing over her face, I forgot what I was going to say to her.

I trace her cheekbones with my thumbs, feeling how warm her face is. "You're really pretty..." God I hope she didn't hear that. All I can think about is how close we are, and when we kissed before. Sure it wasn't amazing but it was with (Y/n), and I wouldn't change anything about it.

If I kiss her now, she'll know I like her. I can't risk it, not right now! Especially since Lucky has caught on. Pulling away nervously, I almost miss the disappointment on (Y/n)s face. Shit, I must be seeing things.

Your P.o.V

He leans back, taking his hands off my face and coughing nervously. Holy shit. Holy. Shit. What just happened! Looking over at the boy, he fumbles around with the marshmallows and faces away from me. The air is filled with an awkward silence, something that is very uncommon between us. I don't like it, so to at least take our minds off of it I take out my phone and get back in the car. Connecting my phone to the car speakers, I start the playlist Trevor and I created together one night. I sit down next to him and let the awkwardness melt away as we listen to the music and fire in front of us.

After a few minutes of looking at the sky and listening to songs from the 70s, Trevor turns to me. "Can I ask you something?" Nodding, I mentally curse because that normally leads to a serious topic. "Why do you call me dirt boy? Not that I don't like it- wait that sounds weird- I don't mind when you call me that I mean-"

"Because you live at the dirt farm and it stuck because most the time I saw you after that, I saw you either fixing the car in dirty clothes or doing gross jobs at Spinners." He nods, face burning red and I laugh softly. I pick up two cookies, offering one to the boy. He takes it and hands me a marshmallow and stick. We roast the mallows to our liking and attempt to get them on our cookies. While I get the marshmallow on the cookie with as little mess as possible, Trevor gets more of the sticky white mess on his fingers than cookie.

"I've seen this movie before."

Trevor looks up from his hand, a horrified look on his face. Then he burst out laughing, doubling over and I join him. Soon we are practically rolling on the floor, cackling at the dirty joke. Eventually we sit up, surprisingly keeping the s'mores intact the whole time. "You are truly something else, (Y/n). Y'know that?"

"I've been made aware."

Time Skip

Five s'mores later, two and a half each, and a whole Disney soundtrack, the sun set over the mountains and now the stars are starting to appear. We lay down on the hood of the Ecto-1, looking up at the sky and listening to a random Disney playlist. A few cords play through the speaker and I sit up so fast that I think Trevor almost shit himself. He sits up next to me. "Hey what's wrong-" I see the gears turn in his head as he listens to the song. "Oh."

"Yeah. Oh." Unconsciously, my eyes tear up. We sit in silence, letting the song fill the silence. I wipe the tears that managed to fall. Shit man, every time. Trevor has a few tears too and I laugh. "God, what a pair we are."

"Hey, it's the theme song from Up, how can you not cry a little bit?" I agree, letting the conversation go quiet again. The lanky boy slides off the hood and gets into the car. Sitting up, I wonder what he's doing. The volume increases and Trevor appears next to me, smiling widely. His hands reach out, pulling me up with him. Other than the dying fire and dim car light, the only light around is the moon and the stars. Trevor places my hands over his shoulders and I realise what he's doing. I gently interlace my hands behind his neck, and he does the same with my waist.

We sway slowly, taking in the music and the atmosphere. My fingers thread through the hair near his neck causing the boy sigh deeply. It didn't take long for me to figure out Trevor likes his hair being played with, I found out pretty early in our friendship. Looking up to see his face, he's gazing down at me and a small smile plays on his lips. There's this look in his eyes, it reminds me of 80s-90s romance movies. Those rom-coms that you'd watch with your mom or put on in the background because 'it's a cheesy old rom-com, how good can it be?' and then your crying over a fictional couple and waiting for that moment yourself.

"We're dancing like an old married couple under the stars, you know that right?" Trevor shakes his head at me, laughing quietly.

"I was going more for cheesy rom-com but old married couple works too." Oh shit. Oh fuck. Shit, fuck, shit. "I know you pretend to hate them, but we both know you love them really." That's not true, I only like the good ones- "Only the good ones though."

"You're a sick bastard." I glare at the boy, trying to be as intimidating as possible. It's hard when he's staring back at me, smiling like he's never been happier. I try not to crack, but Trevor moves one hand behind my neck, supporting my head as I look up at him and the other hand rests on my waist. "Y-you think you're smooth, huh? Well, you're charms don't work on me p-pretty boy."

A faint blush appears on the apples of his cheeks and I cheer mentally. Oh I'm so going to get you back for this. "Uh huh. I believe you." He smirks, his thumbs moving back and forth, creating goosebumps on my neck and butterflies in my stomach. I shift one hand so that it rests between his shoulder and neck. The hand still in his hair plays with the curls. Trevor closes his eyes, leaning back into my hand.

Standing there in each other's arms, listening to a few more songs, I realise that it's a lot later than we were meant to be out for. "Fuck, we need to get back," Trevor groans and hides his face in my neck. "Cute, but we still need to go home." I don't want to leave but we have work tomorrow and our parents will get concerned.

I pull Trevors head up and unwind my arms from him. His arms tighten around me for a second before loosening and he looks down at me with a sad face. "Fine, as long as you promise to call me when you're back home?"

"I pinky promise." I put my hand between us and Trevor smiles brightly, wrapping his finger around mine.
