Author's Note: Let's get ready for Lewis' first week as a Dino Ranger and for Kira to get to know more about him! Enjoy!!!

Lewis' POV
On a day off, usually sleeping in is something everybody does. But as I woke up, I opened my phone and saw Kira messaged me hours ago that Ethan was meeting us. I then frantically got dressed and just before I left, I saw a sticky note on the fridge saying that Mom was working at the hospital again so thankfully, I got time to kill. As I was running over, I was trying to come up with a solution for my scorched morpher. "Could I get Ethan's help?" I asked myself, Yeah, he's great with tech, I can draw up a sketch and show it to him. It would take a lot of hours but-...no, even he's not that smart enough to fix a dino morpher. Maybe I could get Dr O's help! After all, he's the guy who came up with the idea for the morphers to handle the power of the Dino gems. Maybe with some guidance, I could...no, even he would be stumped and it would already add another stressful thing to his list of things to take care of. As I continued walking, I came across a cafe called Hayley's Cybercafé. As I entered, I looked around and it was nice despite looking like a combination of a small arcade and every coffee shop known to man. I then saw Ethan chatting with Connor and Kira telling them that this should be the place to hang out when they're not saving the world. As I came to join them, the owner named Hayley came up to us and asked, "Hey guys, what can I get you?" Kira asked for an apple juice and I asked for lemonade. After Hayley asks Kira if she sings which she immediately responds yes to. Hayley then scheduled an audition for Kira and her band to perform at the cafe, Kira couldn't be more excited. Ethan smirked, "That's Hayley. There's not one kid she hasn't helped in some way."
"She hasn't helped me." Connor said with some sarcasm. "Connor McKnight: the soccer player. I'm surprised you're not at the open tryouts for the Reefside Wave." Hayley said as she came back with the beverages in hand. "Open tryouts?" Connor asked. "Yeah but they're at the practice field right now." Hayley replied while giving Kira and me our drinks. "You're kidding, right?" Connor said with his smile getting bigger. Hayley shook her head and Ethan quipped, "You were saying?" Connor then immediately left, causing me to laugh. "I gotta go too. I need a set list and I need to restring my guitar. Bye!" Kira said before leaving as well. "Ethan, can I ask you something?" I asked him. "Sure, bro. What's up?" He replied. "Tell me about Hayley. I also want to apologize for running late. I kind of..overslept." I said to him. "It's all good, man. As for Hayley, she graduated MIT, a programming genius. She got tired of working at the big tech companies and decided to open up this very place." Ethan said.
"Alright, thanks. One last thing: Can you give me tips when it comes to blueprints? It's for a project of mine." I said. "Honestly, bro. You need to visualize what you're going to create, draw it out, then I think you're good to go." Ethan replied. "Okay, thanks a lot. You've been a great help." I said, slapping him on the shoulder and Ethan smiled, "Hey, I like spreading the love." Just as I was about to leave, our morphers beeped and we both sat down near the computers, trying to look conspicuous. I said close to my morpher, "Hey, Doc, you got Lewis and Ethan." Tommy's voice replied, "Can both of you meet me at the end near Riverside Road in an hour?" "Sure, what's up?" Ethan asked. "Just be there and I'll fill you in." Tommy replied vaguely. We then left the Cybercafé and drove over to the location. During the drive, I saw an old piece of notebook paper and began drawing sketches of a new project or in this case: a new morpher.
*Timeskip: 10 minutes later*
Lewis' POV
Ethan and I arrived at the end of Riverside Road, I put in my sketch of the new morpher into my pocket. As we met with Tommy, he informed us about what was so important, "After the island exploded, some of my experiments were scattered all throughout this area." We then saw what almost looked like rocks glowing red, silver, yellow and blue in the ground. "What are they?" Ethan asked. "Eggs." Tommy answered simply. "Oh it's cool, Dr O. I just had lunch a couple hours ago." Ethan said. Tommy chuckled and retorted, "Oh no, we're not going to eat them, we're going to hatch them. And then you're going to ride them." "Maybe it's all this quietness that's got me hearing things but I thought you just said we're going to be riding these!" Ethan said in disbelief. "I mean I get this is supposed to be abnormal but this is insane!" I said in agreement. "Trust me, you two. When these things are ready, they're going to be a big help to us." Tommy said. "Alright, whatever you say." Ethan replied. "Hey, if Dr O can make finding his old experiments sound like a regular day at the office. It's him." I joked to the both of them while putting the eggs in his bag. Suddenly, we heard a whoosh and we got on guard. Tommy said that we have to protect the eggs no matter what happens and Ethan asks, "Who would want to hurt them?" Suddenly, one of Mesagog's henchmen named Elsa came out from a tree and said, "I would." Zeltrax also came and said, "And I..am starting to have doubts about your intelligence, Dr Oliver." One of Mesagog's goons then tried to grab Tommy's bag but was quickly kicked to the ground. "Attack!" Zeltrax shouted to the tyrannodrones and it turned into one big ambush for the bag. During the fight, Ethan and I both overheard Tommy to call Kira and Connor. "Guys, we could use some ranger help, STAT!" I shouted into my morpher before getting hit by tyrannodrones. After I got up, feeling the Dino power again, I then said to the tyrannodrones confidently, "Here is why you don't screw with the Power Rangers. DINO THUNDER POWER UP!" Soon as I morphed, I saw sparks come out of my morpher. No time to worry about that now. I then helped Ethan out. Soon, Kira and Connor joined in on the brawl. "You couldn't reschedule this another day?" Connor asked. "Well excuse me if tyrannodrones can't reschedule ambushes!" I replied. "Then let's make it quick!" Connor retorted and soon I joined in as the rangers deliver impressive moves with their weapons, taking down the tyrannodrones. Elsa and Zeltrax then retreated but not before threatening that they aren't done with us. "We better get these back to my place." Tommy said, referring to the eggs. "What are they?" Kira asked. "We're going to ride them!" Ethan replied. "Huh?" Kira asked. After Connor asked if he could get back to the tryouts, Tommy said yes and they'll fill him in. Later, we returned back to the Cybercafé and Ethan was playing a computer game and said, "Man, Dr O is into some weird and funky stuff. I don't even wanna know what he's hatching in that cave." I rolled my eyes and said, "Dude, it's probably something awesome. Let's just roll with it." Kira then saw someone and asked, "Whoa. Who is that?" I turned and saw someone in a grey jacket and alright in the looks department though as Kira tried to utter a sentence, it was clear she had a crush. The guy then came over and said, "Hey, I'm looking for Hayley. I'm supposed to start work today." Ethan replied, "She's around here somewhere. Haven't I seen you around Reefside?" "Yeah, I just moved here last week. My name's Trent." The guy replied. After Ethan and I introduced ourselves and Kira, Trent tried to say hi to her but Kira was trying to play hard to get. After Hayley came up to Trent and walked with him to start working, Ethan teased Kira, "Isn't he just so wowed?" Kira then answered back by stomping his foot. I then excused myself as I saw Hayley come back. I walked up to her and said, "Hi Hayley, sorry to bother you but I need your help on something." Hayley replies, "It's no problem, Lewis. What is it?" I then showed my sketch of a new Dino morpher to Hayley. I then ask her, "Can this be made?" Hayley was at first surprised but she started to smile as she replied, "Of course. Though you better give me some time to work on it." "Oh thank you so much, Hayley! I owe you one." I said gratefully. Hayley smiled and just said, "My pleasure. Though you better get back to Kira and Ethan before they get suspicious." I then ran back and saw Connor enter and rant about missing soccer practice and how being a power ranger is starting to mess up his life, he then needed to talk to Tommy. As we entered the secret lair, we heard crashes and Tommy's voice shouting, "DON'T COME IN! IT'S NOT SAFE!" We then ducked the hit of what looked like the tail of a tyrannosaurus and then saw Tommy tossed around. After Tommy ducked from a huge tail, he ran over to us and explained that he was trying to train whatever was in the eggs and the progress is happening very slowly. I noticed he looked like a mess with his jacket covered in drool and slime. Connor then said he needed to talk to Tommy. Immediately after, Tommy got hit by a red tail and Ethan quickly closed the door. "Guess I could take a break." Tommy joked. "Yeah and a hot shower." I replied as Ethan and I helped him up and some Dino drool got onto our hands, grossing us out. "Alright, what's up?" Tommy asked Connor. "You gotta find someone to replace me." Connor said seriously. Ethan and Kira and I think that he's gone nuts until Tommy told us to settle down. "Look, I'm a soccer player. That's all I've ever wanted to be. How every moment of my life has let up to me playing for a pro team. And I get the greatest chance of my life and I blow it!" Connor explained. "I understand. Connor, I know how you feel cause I felt that way before but I want you to think about this before you do anything." Tommy said to him. Kira tried to persuade him at how she had other things but she's still being a Ranger. Connor then said, "I guess I'm just different." He then leaves the cave and Ethan scoffs, "And I thought the red guy was supposed to be the leader." I replied, "Just give him some time, man. If there was an opportunity to show off your tech skills, you would go for it too."
A day later, Ethan, Kira and I walk over to the soccer field and saw the soccer coach walk away from Connor. Connor then said to us he's accepted the chance at being a pro soccer member and then apologized explaining this is what he wants. Our morphers beep and we hear Tommy say, "Guys, we have a situation. There's a monster attacking the city. People are in danger." Connor says to himself, "Okay but this is the last time." We then morphed and ran over to where the monster that Ethan nicknamed Birdbrain was attacking. After putting up a fight, he teasingly said, "Catch me if you can!" He then started jumping away. Soon, Tommy sent in his experiments called the Raptor Riders and we got on and chased after the monster. After a chase around the city, we then combined our weapons to form the Z-Rex blaster and destroyed Birdbrain. But sadly, a brief rainstorm came in and revived the monster as well as making him grow giant size. Connor then said into the morpher, "Dr O, we may have a problem on our hands."
"Let me guess, a 30 story version of that monster you were just fighting?" Tommy's voice replied. "No, he just grew back after having that time of the month!" I replied sarcastically.
"You've done this before, haven't you?" Ethan asked in suspicion. "Once or twice. I'm sending in the Dino Zords." Tommy replied. Soon, our zords came in and formed the megazord. After using Kira's zord as a boomerang to stun Birdbrain, Connor used his tyranno drill to finish the monster off. As Birdbrain was finally destroyed, Kira quipped, "Now that's what I call monster busting!" I quipped back, "How about monster destroying?" Connor and Ethan agreed and Kira giving me a fist pump.
3rd Person's POV
After the fight with Birdbrain, the rangers returned to the cafe to sit down and relax. Lewis then heard a, "pst!" He saw Hayley gesturing him to come over to her office. Lewis then says to Ethan that he'll be right back and that Hayley was helping him with something important. Lewis enters Hayley's office and he was amazed at his new morpher that Hayley created for him. "This is...fantastic!" Lewis said happily as he held the new morpher in his hand. "I'm glad you like it. A couple things I should tell you: Make sure to charge it for tonight. It's also heat resistant so the gem's power doesn't fry it like your first one did." Lewis said, "I guess I better get rid of my old one then." He took off his old morpher and carefully placed the silver dino gem into the new one. After thanking Hayley again, he placed the old morpher into the trash. As he sat back down with Ethan, Connor came over and said to both him and Ethan that after rescuing a little girl during the fight, he realized there's more important things than soccer and decided not to join the pro soccer team. As the 3 guys watch Kira perform at the cafe and cheer for her, Ethan realized, "Hey, wasn't Dr O supposed to be here?" After looking out the window for a couple moments, Lewis looked back to Ethan and shrugged, "Maybe he just couldn't make it." After her performance, Lewis walked up to Kira and said, "Hey, you were awesome! Um, I hope that offer to jam with you is still there." Kira smiled and said, "It still is, Lewis." As they walked to Lewis' house and he opened the door for her, Kira saw that Lewis had a nice living room and a decent kitchen but she saw that the den was reorganized into an armory. "Whoa! When did you turn your den into a weapons room?" Kira asked.
"I had to be prepared, in case if Mesagog or any of his goons were to find this house." Lewis said as he opened up the drawers that had small guns, including his new Dino morpher plugged in. "Sweet, did you actually make that?" Kira asked as she carefully unplugged it and gently held it in her hand. "I came up with the idea after...well, my first morpher got fried but I had some help with a certain tech wiz. It might not be as snazzy as the other Dino morphers but when it's finished charging, it might be able to withstand my Dino gem and go real well with it." Lewis said with a smile as he plugged his new Dino morpher so it can finish charging.
Kira smiled, "You surprise me more and more everyday."
The silver ranger chuckled, "So do you."
Later, as Lewis was looking for his acoustic guitar and Kira sat on his bed, she saw a family album book and started going through it while she waited. She went through pictures of Lewis as a baby as well as him dressed up as a cowboy until a certain picture caught her eye: a picture of a young Lewis sitting on a firefighter's lap with another man playfully giving the firefighter bunny ears.
"Aw, who's this cute little guy?" Kira asked teasingly, showing the photo to Lewis as he walked in.
"Hahahaha...yeah, that was me when my dad and I visited my uncle during the summer way long ago." Lewis said with his guitar in hand.
"Aw, cute. Do you still see your uncle?" Kira asked as Lewis put the photo down.
"Yeah but he's always busy at the fire department with the usual routine: rescuing people, putting out fires, looking good while doing it." Lewis replied. "Lewis..I'm just wondering: where's your dad? I mean, I know your mom works long hours at the hospital but I never see him when you get home."
Lewis replied somberly, "He..died. Died when I was 6."
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Lewis." Kira replied.
"Don't be. It still hurts but a-at least I got to know him, you know." Lewis said as he wiped away a couple of tears. As he sat on the bed and began tuning his guitar, Kira stopped him, placed his guitar down and started hugging him gently. Lewis hugged her back tightly and cried softly.
"Shh...Just let it all out, buddy." Kira said soothingly. Lewis slowly pulls away and smiles a little at Kira, "Thanks, Kira. I needed that."
Kira smiled back and held his hand, "Anytime."
Lewis and Kira then started playing their guitars and sang some of their favorite songs, but first started with his dad's favorite song: Under Pressure by David Bowie. As nighttime came, Lewis put away his guitar, "Thanks for jamming with me, Kira."
"No problem. Let me know if you want to jam again." Kira replied.
Lewis blushed a little and said, "I will. See you tomorrow at school, guitar star."
"See you tomorrow, Bowie lover." Kira snickered and waved goodbye before leaving.
Kira's POV
As I started walking home, I began having that feeling in my stomach again. The feeling you get when you start to really like someone. But...no, I can't like Lewis! Yeah, he's kind of cute, nice guy. No, I was just having too much fun when we were playing. Soon as I opened the door, my mom came up to me and asked, "Where have you been, Kira? It's almost 11 PM!"
I sighed, "I'm sorry for not letting you know, Mom. I was just playing guitar with Lewis at his place. He's a really sweet guy, Mom so you don't need to worry about me and him."
"Wait a second, jamming with your friend, Lewis? Don't you mean, boyfriend?" She said annoying the hell out of me. "Good night, Mom!" I said, walking up to my room and closing the door. "Lewis as my boyfriend.. that will NEVER happen." I muttered as I got ready for bed.
