Power Rangers Dino Thunder: The Hidden Gem

Game On

Author's Note: Time for some training with Lewis and dealing with some creatures and an obnoxious wizard. Enjoy!

Lewis' POV
It was an early Sunday morning, I thought I had a good sleep considering last night with Kira but when I was getting out of bed, my legs felt beyond stiff. After I stretched them out and left the bed, I looked and saw my mom was sleeping in her bedroom, it must have been a long night shift. I then went downstairs to the kitchen and ate some toast. After I got dressed, I walked back into my room to fix my hair. Soon, my morpher went off and I said into it, "Lewis speaking, what's up?" I then heard Kira's voice on the other end, "Hey Lewis, can you meet me, Conner, Ethan, and Dr O near Reefside Forest? We're doing some training together." I replied, "I'm on it. Just let me grab a water and I'll see you guys soon." As I began to leave, Mom then asked me, "Did I just hear something about meeting Tommy near a forest?"
I replied nervously, "Um- yeah...Kira, Conner, and I are going to do a training exercise with Dr. O. You know how self-defense is always important and let's face it: Tommy has always got some new moves up his sleeve." She then chuckled, "True but why didn't he call me about this? If he was going to take you and your friends for some defense class, he should at least let me know." I then said, "Yeah, it was kind of last minute when thinking about it but if you know Tommy, you should know it's for a good reason." Mom then yawned and replied, "Okay, you got a point. Just make sure to call me when you're done." I smiled, "Alright, I will. Love you!" I then quietly left the house and made my way towards Hayley's. As I entered and sat down close to the bar, I looked and saw Ethan playing some computer game. Hayley smiled as she saw me and asked, "Alright, what'll it be, Lewis? The usual lemonade?" I snickered, "Actually, I'm going to need something that has a little bit more kick to it." Hayley smiled and said, "Ah, the classic cherry-almond smoothie, nice choice." As she finished making me the drink, Trent came over and Hayley gave him a tray with a lot of colorful smoothies. "Need a little help there, man?" I asked him after I drank my smoothie. "No, thanks anyway," Trent replied as he was carrying the tray. "Just give me the code, you freakazoid wizard!" Ethan shouted angrily at the computer. As the wizard on the screen laughed at him, he stood up and pushed his chair, inadvertently making Trent drop the tray and a lot of tall glasses spill. Trent quickly apologized to the patrons and then said to Ethan, "By the way, it's just a game. They can't hear you!" As I helped Trent clean up, I overhead that the game Ethan was playing was called Wizard Wood and that the reason why he was playing it so much to get the secret code was so he could test the next game of the fantasy series. I then carefully tossed the last piece of broken glass away and went to Reefside Forest, meeting up with Conner, Kira, and Tommy. Kira and I decided to go a few rounds while Conner was sparring with Tommy. As we sparred, Kira was getting better at her attacks and even won a couple of rounds against me though maybe that was because I kept trying not to laugh at Conner saying he'll take down Tommy even though he really can't. As the three of us stopped for a break, Tommy asked, "So where's Ethan?"
"Crap, I forgot that he was still at Hayley's place. Sorry, Dr O," I said apologetically.
"Look, what's the big deal? I mean, we're just practicing." Conner said.
"Training is just as important as the real thing. You never know when you're gonna be attacked." Suddenly, a tyrannodrone came from out of nowhere and kicked him into us. "Couldn't have planned that better." Tommy quipped as we saw a small army of tyrannodrones led by Zeltrax come in. "Attack!" He shouted to the tyrannodrones. While we were able to take down some of the tyrannodrones, it's clear they were now more difficult to attack. Kira then got an idea and asked, "How do you feel for a ride in the country?"
"Perfect day for it!" I replied. We then morphed into our Ranger personas and Conner took down most of the tyrannodrones using the lasers on his motorcycle. Kira then got on her motorcycle and signaled for
me to get out of the way as she blasted what was left of the tyrannodrones. After Zeltrax left through invisiportal, we met up with Tommy and he thinks that Zeltrax was using his tyrannodrones attack as a distraction and the three of us should get Ethan and meet with Tommy at his lab. Soon, we were walking back to the Cybercafé and something I noticed was that I started to feel like I had a bad headache, maybe it was the tyrannodrones or I probably needed to have a better sleep schedule. "You think he's still here?" Conner asked Kira as we approached the Cybercafé. "Let's find out," Kira replied. I briefly looked through the window and the place looked deserted. "Last time I saw him, he was sitting right there," I said. Suddenly, we heard maniacal laughter and it came from a new monster that looked like a mixture of an underwater hideout and a demon with wings. It said evilly, "If you're looking for your friend, you're too late! Unless you want to join him..." We then charged at the monster and it was more skilled than I thought. "Dr. O, found one of Mesagog's buddies but no Ethan!" Conner said into his morpher. "Getting a reading on him. Keep looking while I try to pinpoint the signal." Tommy replied on the morphers. The monster then blasted a huge attack at me, Conner, and Kira and we hid near some crates to avoid the blast. "Easier said than done," I muttered. After dodging another blast, Conner said to Kira, "Now would be a really good time to find Ethan." "See if you can draw its fire, Lewis, and I'll check inside!" Kira replied. "Check fast. I don't know how long I can hold him off." Conner said. Kira and I then ran into the Cybercafé to look for Ethan. We saw his backpack was by the computer so we knew he didn't go home. The computer showed a level of Wizard Wood so he must have been still working on it. There was also some strange invention next to the computer that could only have been created by Ethan. "What's this?" Kira asked as she looked closer. Suddenly, the invention burst to life and before both of us could get ready, it created a portal that sucked us into the game! Both of us landed on some patchy grass but we also saw Ethan on the ground. As the three of us got up, Kira said to him, "I don't suppose you know how to get out of here?"
"I don't even know how I even got in here!" Ethan said back. "Probably that crazy invention of yours had something to do with it." I retorted. Suddenly, an army of monsters with spears came in and tried to attack us. Luckily, some were easy to take down but the rest were smarter than your average tyrannodrone. "Have you tried to morph?" Kira asked. "What will that do?" Ethan replied. "Keep us alive longer and maybe find a way out of this nightmare!" I said back. "Works for me," Ethan replied. After we morphed, we finally got an edge against these obnoxious cretins and even did some team attacks to take them down. Soon, we were suddenly teleported back to Hayley's Cybercafé as we fought and after Kira and Ethan noticed, I said to them, "Well, at least we're back." As the fight continued, Conner shouted, "What's going on?!"
"Don't ask." Kira replied vaguely. During the fight, some of the monsters were thrown into some bar stools, knocking them over. "Aw man, Hayley's going to murder me." Ethan said worried. "We've got bigger things to worry about!" I shouted while kicking some monsters onto the couch.
"Conner, morph and meet us outside, okay?" Kira said to him and he agreed, morphing. As we took the fight outside, I helped Conner with the monster and it teleported away, getting rid of the video game minions as well. After we demorphed and looked at the game, Conner wanted to know more answers, much like me and Kira. We looked at the computer screen again and saw the wizard teleport away, Ethan then said that he didn't know where to start. Suddenly, we heard a voice say, "The truth is always best told from thine heart!" The wizard that Ethan was fighting in the game is now in the real world and something tells me this wasn't going to be easy. Later, all of us arrived at Tommy's home and went down the secret lab, we explained the situation and showed Hayley Ethan's invention. She then began linking it to her own computer's mainframe. Tommy then asked Ethan in a very disappointed tone, "So let me get this straight. You were so caught up in a video game that you let a monster sneak up behind you?" Ethan tried to make up an excuse, "It's an addicting game, Dr. O!" "You have to keep your head at this game at all times! I know it can be hard and really dangerous too. You just gotta-" Tommy said until suddenly, his mouth vanished. We then turned to the wizard that did it and Ethan said angrily, "Beldorf, give him his mouth back!" The wizard gave an annoyed look back and Conner joked, "Can we wait until after midterms?" I rolled my eyes and secretly wished that the wizard got rid of Conner's mouth. I then said in a more commanding way, "Beldorf, give him his mouth back. This guy will be one of the keys to helping you get back home. Trust me, he defeated monsters, took down villains and destroyed thousands of creatures for years. He is someone that you definitely don't wanna mess with!" Beldorf replied, "Pft, he may have a hero's look but he seems to be more like someone speaking nothing but hot air. YOU are also not fit to challenge a wizard as skilled as me! What do you say to that?" I can now see why Ethan despised Beldorf so much. I then stood and walked up to the wizard, showing my taller height and said more sternly, "Give him his mouth back or I will make sure the things missing from you are your wand and also...your head." Beldorf nodded shakily and gave Tommy his mouth back with a flick of the wand. "K-killjoy." He said to me, frightened. After Tommy got his mouth back, he said, "Let's not do that again...ever."
"I'm really sorry, Dr. O. I've definitely learned my lesson." Ethan said as he apologized.
"You know this might not be a total loss." Hayley said as she got an idea. After Tommy asked what she meant, Hayley explained, "That creature's energy left a residual power pulse and if I recalibrate the settings, I might be able to use this thing to send Beldorf back." "You mean...I did something right?" Ethan asked with a smile. "You may have gotten lucky. Right now we deal with the creature that's still on the loose. Kira, check the monitors and see if you can find him."  A few minutes later, after looking at the monitors, Kira came up to us and said, "Looks like Mr. Magnetic Personality is back!" Tommy told Beldorf to stay put in the lab much to his annoyance. He then said to Kira, Hayley and Ethan to keep an eye on the wizard while Conner and I went with him to take down the monster for good. Soon, Conner, Tommy and I found him causing chaos on the streets and as we charged at him, the monster was getting faster. After dodging a few blasts, we were able to get some attacks until Ethan and Kira made a grand appearance by the Pterya zord. After forming the Z-Rex blaster, we destroyed him with one big blast. But much like always, the monster returned larger than ever. We quickly formed the megazord and got some good hits on the monster before it started to play dirty by going underneath the grounds and attacking us before we can react. Conner then got an idea and told Kira to activate the seismic receiver. After getting a lock, we fired the tyranno tail, destroying the monster for good. Later, we returned to Hayley's Cybercafé for one loose end to tie up. Beldorf asked Ethan, "I presume you are still looking for the secret code for the city of Goldor?" Ethan replied, "Yeah. But I think I'll work on getting it the old fashioned way. One key at a time." Beldorf said it was a good answer and Ethan's device teleported him back to his game. Surprisingly, Cassidy and Devin teleported back, landing on the floor. "Wow, great entrance." Ethan joked with some snark. As they got up, I saw that Cassidy looked dirty and her dress was a complete mess and was complaining about smelling like a dirty animal. As Devin comforted her, Trent came in and asks Ethan, "So, what happened? Did you get the secret code?" Ethan replied, "Not exactly. You're gonna have to order me a tall smoothie cause it's going to be a long day." I sighed, "Why am I not surprised?" We had a laugh over it though I will say this is why I'm not the biggest fan of wizard games.

Not that much to say except I had a lot of fun when it came to writing this. Plus, I kind of wanted somebody to stand up to Beldorf. Have a great day, everybody!
