Power Rangers Dino Thunder: The Hidden Gem

Back in Black

Author's Note: Time for Tommy to take the Power Ranger mantle once again and for some bonding with Hayley and Lewis and how she's going to help him with his "morpher problem". Enjoy!

Lewis' POV
After we saw the portal that Hayley locked on, there was no time to waste. As we started to walk, Hayley said that we have to reach a speed of 536,000 miles per hour or we couldn't break past the firewall and probably be ripped to shreds...after getting that realization, we stopped and turned to her. "Did I forget to mention that?" Hayley asked absentmindedly. "Did you really need to be that detailed? You could have just said go that speed otherwise we'd never make it!" I said angrily. Hayley chuckled and said, "Never fear, I have just the thing." She then pressed a button and a door opened, showing 4 new raptor cycles for us. As Hayley was telling how the cycles can go extremely fast in close to a minute, Kira asks her what to do when arriving. Hayley says, "Use your Dino gems to access the hyperdrive to head straight through the portal to Mesagog's island fortress." Conner then asked, "Wait, did you just say ISLAND fortress?" Hayley simply replied, "Yes, why?" Connor tried to explain, "Well, islands. They're...surrounded by water." Ethan then said teasingly, "No. You can't swim?" "I never said that!" Connor said in defense. Ethan snickered, "But it's true, you can't." Hayley then said, "The invisportal will take you directly to the island. You'll never have to get wet." As Hayley started to leave, I saw on the look of her face, she was trying not to laugh. We then morphed, got on the new bikes and left. We finally arrived at Hayley's coordinates and luckily: an invisportal came but also trouble. Elsa, Zeltrax, an army of tyrannodrones and another monster. "Hey, no one invited you to the party!" Connor said to Elsa. "I'm crashing and I brought a few friends, is that rude?" Elsa replied. "Elsa, when you do party crashing. You just make it look offensive." I retorted. "You're not getting through that portal unless you're in chains." Zeltrax said to us menacingly. I smirked, "We're going through that portal with you guys left in the dust! Let's go for it, guys!" As Elsa signaled the attack, we accelerated our bikes and fired lasers at the tyrannodrones. While Connor was fighting Elsa and Zeltrax. Kira and I teamed up to blast more tyrannodrones. "This is going to be a blast!" Kira said as we both took out our Dino guns. I laughed as we blasted the tyrannodrones, "More of a blast for us, anyways!" After Connor finally took down Zeltrax and Elsa, Ethan shouted, "Guys, hurry! The portal's still open!!"
"Punch it!" Connor shouted and all of us quickly entered through the portal. After arriving in Mesagog's fortress, Connor said to his morpher, "Hayley, we're in." Hayley's voice came and retorted, "Good. I'll recalibrate the bikes to your exit. You have about 5 minutes." We then unmorphed and suddenly, I coughed a little. Maybe it's just the awful scent of Mesagog. As Kira thought we still had the element of surprise, Mesagog stopped us and said evilly, "Welcome, we've been expecting you. You remember me, I trust?" Kira said sarcastically, "Like I could forget that face." I scoffed, "Does he still have a face?"
The door closed on us as Mesgaog said, "Obviously, you are in need of some discipline." As he was about to attack us, his goons came in through an invisiportal, he got them instead and we quickly ran for it. We finally found Tommy and released him. Ethan then quickly closed the doors by pressing a red button. Tommy came over to Ethan's side and said while pressing buttons on Mesagog's computer, "I should have known you were trying to rescue me." Ethan replied, "Is that your way of saying thank you? Cause it needs some work." After fiddling with Mesagog's computer, Tommy said, "I'll thank you for real when we get out of here. We can use the main invisiportal network." A small invisiportal materialized and after we told Tommy that we saw his video diary. Ethan said to him that we know he's a Power Ranger. Tommy simply replied, "Once, Ethan. Not anymore." Suddenly, the lab doors opened again, causing the villains to run in with Mesagog saying to Tommy, "Ranger or not, you're mine now." Tommy replied, "I hate when he gets like this." I quipped, "Trust me. We all do." Kira, Ethan, Connor and I then morphed again, fighting Elsa and the rest of our enemies. After we saw Tommy fighting Mesagog, we were immediately going to help but he shouted, "Head for the portal! I gotta get something." We couldn't argue for long as he shouted at us to hurry. We jumped through the small portal and got on our bikes. Tommy luckily came after and we saw him holding a small black stone encased in ice. Connor asked with a hint of sarcasm, "Do we really need a souvenir?" Tommy replied sternly, "This one, we do." As all of us heard running, he said, "Go, I'm right behind you!" We then went through the invisiportal and arrived back at Reefside. As we saw Tommy come through, we had a moment of joy but it was interrupted as the villains came through the invisiportal as well. Zeltrax then fired a laser from his sword at Tommy and he used the ice block as a shield. It didn't hold for long as it cracked and a huge light briefly blinded us and all we could hear was Tommy's scream. We then saw the broken ice and no sign of Tommy, we couldn't believe it. "This can't be happening!" Kira said. "Such negativity. Haven't you learned? In our world, anything's possible." Elsa replied. "Even the destruction of the great Dr. Tommy Oliver." Zeltrax said evilly. "I heard my name." Tommy's voice said, much to our surprise. "You missed me, didn't you, Zeltrax?" Tommy quipped as he came into sight. We were relieved as we ran over to him and we saw that the black gem in his hand was what protected him, as well as giving him the power of invisibility. "That gem belongs to my master!" Elsa shouted. "There's 2 things you guys need to know about Dino gems. 1: You can't choose them. They choose you." Tommy replied. "What's the other?" Elsa asked with some annoyance. Tommy smirks, as a Dino morpher on his wrist was now shown, "They go real well with Dino morphers." He then places the Dino gem into the morpher, activating it.
"Aren't you a little old for this, Tommy?" Elsa asked mockingly.
"I may be old but I can still pull it off." Tommy retorted confidently. "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" Tommy said and he morphed into the black Dino ranger. I'll admit he looks pretty slick.
"Another ranger makes no difference. Attack!" Zeltrax said and he charged at us with the tyrannodrones and the monster called Pollinator. As Kira, Ethan and I fought the new monster, he had an invisibility trick up his sleeve but after a blast from the Z-Rex blaster, he was destroyed. After Tommy defeated Zeltrax, he said, "I got a message for your boss. Tell him Tommy's back and no matter what color I am, he'll never defeat me." Zeltrax then left through invisiportal. Soon, Pollinator was revived to 30 feet and Hayley said through Tommy's morpher, "I've got a little homecoming surprise for you. I found it on the north side of the forest." Suddenly, a new bracio zord was seen stomping through the city, it must have woke up due to the black dino gem. We also saw the bracio zord has compartments for the tyranno, tricera and ptyra zord. As the megazord formed, Pollinator proved to be a little more stronger. "Any more gifts from that bracio zord, Hayley? We're getting our tails kicked." I asked into my morpher. "Oh yes. Introducing the Cephala zord." One of the front compartments of the bracio zords came out a tiny dino zord with boxing gloves, this must be the Cephala zord. After Tommy advised combining it for more power, we did just that. The Cephala zord then used its power punch, finally getting rid of Pollinator. Soon, all of us, including Tommy, went to the Cyber cafe to finally sit and relax. Ethan said, "What a day. New bikes, new zords." Conner added, "New ranger. Well...sort of new." Tommy gave a soft chuckle when hearing that. "Dr O, are you going to tell us how you happened to have that morpher ready?" Kira asked. "Right after you guys became rangers, I got an energy read on my tracking system. I had a good idea it was another gem. So, I had Hayley build a morpher just in case." Tommy simply replied as Hayley walked in. "What about Kira's gig?" I asked. "I was going to tell you guys the energy had moved and we need to investigate." He answered. "But you then got nabbed by the Goomba patrol. Brutal." Conner commented. "Yeah but it all turned out okay. Well I better get going." Tommy said as he left his seat. "Oh no. Dr O, PLEASE don't tell me you're going-." I said. Tommy quipped, "To shop. I checked my closet this morning and there's a serious shortage of black in there." I groaned and everybody shared a laugh.
