(Third Person- With Tom)

I’ve been sitting here staring at the screen for what seems like an eternity, but in actuality about an hour. I can’t keep my eyes off of the screen, feeling a mix of pride and disgust. I’m proud of Anna and her team for the most part escaping, and disgust at how many people are dying. Especially the way they are dying, when Anna stabbed the guy in the neck near the beginning, I thought I was going to throw up.

But I’ve never been in the position to have to choose between kill or be killed, so I’m trying not to judge or get sick.

I watched as Anna and the guy fought outside the truck with a small, “come on Anna,” whispered over and over. We saw as her concentration was broken and the knife went into her side, we all started yelling at the screen.

People kept coming in the office handing Ranger folders with papers, he would look at them and continue watching the screen, not saying anything.

I kept my eyes locked on Anna’s face as she was driving, she had a look of sheer determination and complete focus.

“There’s my genius,” RDJ yells at the screen when she brake checked the vehicles behind her.

Finally after what seemed like forever a thinner blond haired guy walked into the room, “Sir, we have the coordinates, I’ve called Commander Elliot, they don’t have the available resources,” a gangly guy poked his head in the room. Everyone in the room looked towards the door, hope dimming in our eyes.

“Shit,” Ranger paused looking at the file he was just handed. “David, see if we still have a bird on base. If so, get them in the air. We are going in after them. Make sure they bring a medic.” When David didn’t move fast enough, Ranger walked to the door and bellowed down the hall. “Hurry up, I’m giving them 20 minutes! Or you’re all fucking fired!”

My mind kept replaying different images of Anna over the last few months. Her smile, her laugh, the way she fit in my arms, the feel of her pressed against me. There was so much I still wanted to experience with her. I wanted to dance with her again, sightsee in London (and all over the world), just be with her.

I jump to my feet when I see Anna’s head hit the steering wheel and Max yells to the group, “Hold on we’re going in!”

A few minutes later, Ranger is on the phone with the group, trying to see how bad Anna’s wounds are and who else is injured.

After about 20 minutes, I watch as they load her onto the stretcher and into the helicopter, Anna’s eyes have finally opened and she is screaming. She’s screaming so loud, my heart is aching for her.

“Now what do we do Ranger?” I ask him. He’s back on the phone.

He looks at everyone in the group before answering, “They are taking her to base, and once she’s stable they are going to fly her to a hospital in Germany. She’ll most likely stay there until they can release her. She’ll be able to do any rehab she needs here in the US.”

“Can we meet them in Germany?” RDJ asks

“Yes, but it will be a few days before she makes it there. I suggest you guys get your work done here, since you really had today left. Make your plans and then go, don’t just drop everything and run.”

I turn to Hemsworth, who is still staring at the blank screen tears silently falling down his face. I’ve been such a bad friend, I didn’t even think of what he was going through during this.  I walk up to him and wrap him into a hug, “It’ll be ok, and they are going to take care of her.”
