(Remember, so far, this is a one sided attraction on his side)
(3rd Person POV)
Evangeline walked through the woods, getting closer to Merlin's cottage, holding a bucket of fruit she collected. She heard talking on the inside. The boy Merlin was talking about must have arrived while she was gone. She opened the door with a small creak from the hinges.
"Ah, Evangeline! Meet Arthur, or Wart. Wart, this is Evangeline," Merlin said. The girl gave the young boy a smile.
"Nice to meet you, Arthur," she said sweetly, placing the bucket down. Arthur smiled back, wringing his hands in his lap. The girl was pretty...
"Tea, Eva?"
"Yes, please. Sugar bowl...please come here," she cooed, motioning the little thing to hop over when she got her cup. The bowl bounced over and started scooping sugar in her drink. "When," she said after five scoops.
"You put too much sugar in your tea, Eva. You know-."
"I don't want to hear it, Merlin," she giggled. Merlin just chuckled. "So, what have you two been talking about?" Merlin had a bunch of books in front of him.
"We're talking about the boy's schooling! One can't grow up without a decent education, you know," he said, opening one of the books. Arthur, glanced over at him.
"Oh, I suppose not, Sir...Merlin," he said. The wizard rubbed his glasses with his mustache.
"So, I am going to be your tutor! Evangeline can help, too, if she's interested, of course."
"Of course I'm interested. I can help you with Music, Zoology, and Folklore," she told the young boy with a smile. Arthur stood up in a hurry.
"But I've got to get back to the castle! They'll want me in the kitchen!"
"Oh, well then... very well. We'll pack and be on our way," Merlin said, taking his bag and standing on a stool. "You... You watch now. You'll like this." Evangeline giggled.
"I love it when he does this," she whispered to Arthur.
"What a way to pack," Arthur said in awe, staring at the bag, then scanning the now very empty cottage.
"Ok, Merlin, my turn," Evangeline said. Merlin nodded and waved his wand. The brunette suddenly disappeared in a puff of smoke and a crystal ball was left where she was originally standing.
"What just happened?" Arthur asked.
"Oh, if Eva has been out all day and we need to go somewhere far, I let her have a small break. She's been out since dawn this morning and barely got any sleep last night. It feels like I owe her."
"Thank you, Merlin!!" the girl's muffled voice said from the glass orb. Merlin picked it up and gently placed it into his purple bag.
"Now! Let's get going!"
(Small timeskip to when they get to the castle)
One foot in the castle, and Arthur was tackled to the ground by the two dogs Sir Ector owned as they happily licked his face.
