 (Scout's POV)

I glanced outside of Zara and I's shared house, making sure the coast was clear and then ran outside and made a beeline for the restaurant Zara and John were at on their date. Once I was there, I hoisted myself on the stone wall and watched the couples as they danced to the orchestra that was playing. I almost squealed when I saw Zara and John dancing together.

"Oi! Girly!" I jumped, thinking it was the police, but it actually turned out to be a buck toothed ginger boy and 4 other boys about the same age as us.

"SHUSH! You're ruining the moment!" I whisper yelled. The ginger and his friends climbed up next to me and the ginger got a good look at my face and his eyes widened.

"See something ya like?" I asked, smirking.

"I-I...well..u-uh..." The ginger stuttered, but said nothing in the end. I giggled. He's cute in a...weird sorta way.

"I'm Scout," I said, before turning my attention back to the couple.

"What's your real name?" he asked. I raised an eyebrow.

"Scout...I don't have a real name. I ran away from home and the girl over there dancing with the fox named me after we met because I'm a good lookout." The boy nodded slowly.

      "I'm Lampwick." I giggled.

"What's your real name?" I asked teasingly. He blushed and his friends snickered.

"Romeo," He mumbled. I smiled slightly.

"Cute. Now shh. I'm trying to watch." Lampwick and his friends watched as well until one of the other boys spoke up.

"Why do you even care? I mean, it's not your relationship?" I sighed and cupped my jaw in my hand.

"Music makes everything better. Especially romance," I said. The song changed. "I mean look at them..."

(A/N: Italics are Scout when she's singing)

The best things happen while you're dancing

Things you would not do at home

Come naturally on the floor

For dancing soon becomes romancing

When you hold a girl in your arms

That you've never held before

Even guys with two left feet

Come out alright if the girl is sweet

If by chance their cheeks should meet while dancing

Proving that the best things happen while you dance

I sighed lovingly at Zara and John when the music ended. They smiled at each other and walked back to their seats. Unfortunately, my fondness didn't last for long. My blonde haired companion noticed me. Her eyes widened in shock and she motioned sharply for me to leave. I jumped and grinned at her and made a heart with my hands. She blushed and repeated her previous gesture, so I rolled my eyes and jumped down, as did Lampwick and the other boys.

"So you two are sisters?" Lampwick asked.

"Yes and no. Different families, but she basically adopted me. We both ran away from home at a young age. I tried pick pocketing her one day and she caught me. But, instead of turning me in...she took me in. That was five years ago," I explained, leaning against the wall with a small shrug. Lampwick was about to ask another question, when Zara and Honest John stumbled out of the doors of the restaurant, her giggling and him kissing her cheek, arms around her waist. We made eye contact and she gave me a glare.

"Scout..." she growled. "....I'll be home in the morning." I laughed as Honest John lead her away from us. I turned back to Lampwick and his friends, still smiling.

"Well, I gotta go. See ya!"

"Hey wait a minute. Won't I see you around?" Lampwick asked. I shrugged and started walking off backwards, facing him.

"You might! But I'm hard to catch! Good luck! Bye!" And with that, I ran off towards the house.

'Zara is going to have a lot of explaining to do when she gets home,' I thought.

       'Then again so will I.....'
