(Celeste's POV) (Four years before movie events)

I swallowed nervously as I stood in front of the prestigious restaurant, it's bright, soothing lights and muffled violin music from inside seemingly taunting me. I was answering to an ad I saw in the paper. My secretary job wasn't cutting it finance-wise and I needed money to keep myself on my feet, so I answering an ad asking for a sugar baby. The man I called over the phone asked me to meet him...here. I had to spend more money on a new dress than I had on three whole new outfits. I took a deep breath and walked in, scanning the tables as I walked to the hostess' desk.

"Hello, I'm here to see a Mr. Rourke?" I told her, tapping my finger on my purse. She checked her book and nodded with a smile.

"Yes, he told me he was expecting someone else. Follow me, please." She led me to a booth in a corner of the restaurant. Already sitting at the table was a tall, strong looking man with a sharp jawline. He looked up and smiled at me, gesturing for me to sit down next to him, dismissing the waitress politely. I slipped in to the booth, sitting a respectable distance from him.

"So you're Celeste, right?" the man asked, pouring the us both a glass of wine each. I nodded shyly, looking at the tabletop as I played with the strap of my purse. Rourke chuckled. "Well, I'm Lyle Tiberius Rourke. Can I ask you why you answered my ad?"

"I'm struggling financially. I have a job as a secretary, but recently my boss has been making cuts to our paychecks and no one knows why. I've already lost my heating and I'm close to losing my electricity. I answered your ad because I really need money to get myself back on my feet. I don't need it for fancy clothes or furniture, I just need it to pay some bills and keep me stable," I explained. Rourke nodded.

"I see. Well I'd be more than willing to help you," he said. I looked up at him with hopeful eyes.

"Really?! Oh, thank you so much! I can't-." He held up his hand and I closed my mouth.

"I'd be more than willing to help you, but of course...I'm going to need something in return," he said with a small smirk, putting his large hand over mine. Blood rushed to my face as I gulped nervously.

"U-Uh, what would that be?" My brain began to assume the worst, but he laughed a little.

"Don't fret, I'm not going to ask for anything you would be uncomfortable about, especially after our first meeting." I subtly sighed in relief. "I only want someone by my side. My ex-wife wanted a divorce after only a couple months and I haven't really had a woman as a companion in a really long time. Take you on dates, things like that." I nodded a little nervously.                 'This man isn't setting off any red flags or make me uncomfortable by asking for....things, so I guess it's ok to accept this offer,' I thought to myself.

"So, is that alright with you? Be my sugar baby?" My eyes flickered between him and the tabletop for a few moments, biting the inside of my cheek as I hesitated. I finally took a deep breath and looked up at him in the eyes.

                  "I accept."

So sorry I haven't been as active lately! School's been taking up a bunch of my time and I haven't really found too much time to write as much as I want to. Hope you liked this chapter! Sorry if it's a bit short.

Love ya!
