No one saw it coming, two of the largest companies in the world had lost their partners, investors and most of their employees in a night.
By the end of the day, the companies had been overthrown by the owners’ best friends. If highly valued CEOs were high profile due to their daily lives then this scandal raised the bar higher than ever anticipated.
Gigi lost her largest and most profitable business, Chris lost his shares in his company. Their own best friends gained their assets and there was no legal way to fight this take over no matter how one looked at it.
While everyone was counting on an even major drama to occur, Some people were puking blood out of anger while others were waiting for the show of their lives.
So what if they gained the companies? There was nothing to it but name. Investors, employees even the money was all gone, not even the night watch remained, this was not the outcome expected, they realised too late that they fell into the very trap they designed, except it was a little tweaked to hold them in.
GIGI’s POV
Drinking with my ex husband come fiance after crushing those useless traitors was one of the most relaxing days I have had in months.
The kids running around the house, clueless to the way the world works or how cruel it could possibly be. I know I’m going to shelter them for now but it couldn’t possibly last too long before they face the cruel truth. For now, I’m not giving anyone or anything a chance to hurt a hair on my kids.
“Mommy, daddy, come play with us please “ they say pulling us to the floor
Being a while since we played together, we of course joined in the fun
“of course baby, let’s play “ I smile as Chris says and lifts the girls and run around with them while chasing the boys.
“he’s going to catch us, hide” I pull the boys along and hide behind the kitchen counter. The games keep going on for about an hour or two till the boys are exhausted and the girls’ eyes start dropping.
While getting cleaned up before going to bed, Martha comes to inform us of the expected guest’s arrival. Turns out we didn’t have to wait till tomorrow
“get them some tea, I’ll just finish up and put them down first. Let them wait a little “ I say with a slight smirk. I seriously can’t wait, Chris raises an eyebrow at my statement and slowly shakes his head.
After changing our wet clothes, the kids are long asleep so we head downstairs for our guests.
“you bitch, how could you do this to me, I’ll make you pay” Lilly said as soon as we arrived
“calm down darling, I didn’t really do anything, now did I?” I said walking to a chair
“didn’t do anything? I owe the bank over a billion with nothing to show! My assets will be sold if there’s no company!” she yelled turning all red in the face
“oh honey, sweetie, darling, it’s your company and not mine, I’m just some nameless person the world does not know. How could I possibly be related to your company’s debts? “ I ask with the most innocent look I could master. Well, that’s until Chris bursts out laughing like a maniac.
“So this is what you wanted? I’ll get revenge on you, you’ll regret this!” Dominic who had been silent all along chimes in.
“hey, don’t berate my wife, she merely tweaked the script you two wrote. Didn’t you two want the companies and got them through all means? Neither of us took advantage of you! Right Mr lawyer? It’s legal, right? “ Chris says with a scornful look about his face towards the two so called best friends
Both Lilly and Dominic did everything I by the book, using the law as their shield since he is a lawyer, but forgot one important detail. Chris and I are all about business, we never take deals that don’t benefit us.
“so it is true, you were a snake all along “ A voice says by the door only to turn and find Ryan with a condemning look directed towards Lilly
“It’s not like that Ryan, she set me up” Lilly says trying to push the blame “this bitch is the snake, you got to believe me”
Without a second look, Ryan ignores her and comes to me with a sorry look.
“I’m sorry I didn’t believe you, I really thought you were being paranoid” he says
“no worries, I know you stayed away to avoid picking sides even though I had evidence at hand. “ I say with a smile hugging him.
We keep talking about his career, the fashion show and everything else completely ignoring the others.
“This isn’t over, I will find a way and get revenge. “ Dom said while standing
“sounds over to me, you set up an excuse for our divorce, took our companies and even the debts. Sounds like retribution. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out” I said with a completely chilling voice and from the look on their faces, it was over.
“they engineered our divorce?” Chris was surprised, angry and disappointed
“oh love, you don’t know the half of it. Now, get out of my house dimwits, NOW” I bellowed as they stood in a hurry
