It was the big day, the game. Jungkook's last game at this college with his team who he had been playing with since he started. It was emotional but he was also excited for what was next to come. They were warming up in the gym, doing a few stretches and drills. After they finished they sat in the locker room, talking about strategies and gameplay.
"Wait before we go in more deep with this game play, do those who have partners bring their jumper with their number on it" Jack asked as those who were in a relationship nodded. This was also a tradition whenever they had a game when their partner would be there to watch you would walk up to them and put the jumper over them, the jumper has their name and their jersey number.
Jungkook was quite looking forward to putting his jersey on Taehyung. He never did with his past girlfriend but he feels different with Tae so he decided that he should do it. In basketball terms this was like marriage, putting your jumper on your partner. Jungkook always thought it was a funny tradition but at this time he is glad its a thing.
They heard people cheering from outside which meant the game was about to begin, once their team name was called they all did a little huddle- Jungkook giving the speech before they all cheered as they rushed towards the court. Jungkook's eyes scanned the crowd as he held the jumper in his hand.
His eyes caught a waving Taehyung who had a bright smile on his face, he was sitting with Jimin, Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok and Namjoon on the front row. Jungkook rushed towards him and placed the jumper over his head.
Smiling when he heard many 'aws' from the crowd.
"I love you" Jungkook said pecking the males lips before going back to the court. Once he turned back to see Taehyung snuggled up in his jumper, it made him feel even more drive to win this game.
He smiled when he saw Taehyung's father behind his boyfriend, he was waving like crazy. Jungkook waved back. His smile grew when he made eye contact with his mother and Jun who were by Taehyung's father.
He laughed when Jun was pushing out his mothers arms to get to Taehyung.
He was really thankful that his family was here, it made him realise that yeah it sucks he did not grow up with his father in his life. It will always hurt but he wants to move on, he knows that when he has kids that he will be the best father.
He feels grateful to even have Taehyung's father in his life, his boyfriends father has been a better Dad to him then Jungkook's actually Dad. Jungkook walked back to the boys and did a huddle before the game started.
Once they ran onto the court the hall was erupted in cheers and screams of joy and excitement.
Taehyung's eyes followed Jungkook once they game had began, Jun was just as excited saying how that was his big brother. Jungkook was such an incredible player, he would help up the opposite team if they fell down.
Taehyung did not know much about basketball, he was not sure on who was wining unless if he looked at the score board. He heard people cheer and saw Jungkook's team get excited, which meant they got a point.
Jun was playing with a toy on Taehyung's lap, minding his own business and playing his game.
After the game went back and forward they had a break time where the teams went to their coach and had a team talk. Taehyung's eyes followed his boyfriends movement- to see him smiling with his team and answering a few questions while showing them techniques.
His eyes scanned the crowd and saw Sarah and her group of girls cheering for Jungkook and only him. It did not surprise him but it still pissed him off, the girls were so obsessed with him that its like they cant see anyone else.
Its like Sarah really thinks she still has a chance with Jungkook, or that he would notice her. He heard Jimin chuckle beside him causing him to turn his head only for Jimin to show him his phone which was of a instagram post from Sarah's account.
It was a picture of the basketball tickets that said.
Cant wait to see my Jungkook play
"She even tagged him in it" Jimin said rolling his eyes
"She annoys me" Taehyung said
I will just have to show her he is mine, he would have thought the jumper would have been obvious but I guess not. Time went by so quickly, he could hear his dads screams behind him- cheering on his sons boyfriend and his team.
The game was coming to an end and the whole hall was silent, holding onto their fists waiting for one of the teams to score. Jun and hopped off his lap and ran towards Namjoon to sit on his lap.
Taehyung held onto Jimin's hand as the watched Jungkook score the goal. The hall went wild with screams, Jungkook's team jumping on him in excitement. Taehyung stood up when Jungkook was in clear view.
He rushed towards the male and jumped on him, smiling when Jungkook held him by his waist and spun them around. Once he placed Taehyung on the ground he cupped the basketball players cheeks and placed his lips onto them.
Slow but passionate was Taehyung's favourite.
"You did it, I am so proud of you" Taehyung whispered after pulling away.
Jungkook spun around when he heard his little brother giggling and little footsteps rushing towards him. Jungkook spread his arms wide and picked Jun up when he was in reach.
They both watched as their friends came to congratulation Jungkook's win. Taehyungs father pulled him into a tight hug and said again that he was so proud of him.
'It was a honour to watch this game'
All those words meant the world to Jungkook.
