Sorry it's short

It has been 4 months since you got here, and training was fun with Hunter. No one was stupid enough to bother you at school.

Ossie was still mad and refused to answer your texts, and Hunter became your closest friend since Ossie and you weren't on speaking terms.

Sadly, Hunter seemed to have made his way into your heart.

Translation: You fell in love with him.

Simp.

"Y/n," Hunter said knocking on your door. You opened it.

"Hunter- What's wrong?" His face was confused and concerned. Irritated.

"The emperor would like to speak to you."

You blinked, but don't react. Then it sunk in. "EH!!?"

Emperor Belos hadn't spoken to you since the first day you came to the castle. Not that you were complaining. But why would he want to talk to you now?

Did you do something wrong? Are you being punished?

Hunter seemed to know what you were thinking. He touched your shoulders. "Hey, hey! You didn't do anything wrong! He'd like you to fight me to see what you've learned and what you could do better, like an evaluation."

"Why do you look sad and irritated though?" You asked.

"Because if you lose...you'll be sent back to the Saccharine Isles. Your training will be cancelled. And I can't let you win. He'll know."

"But what if I win? What will happen to you?"

"Nothing, I'd probably have to train harder as a punishment, but I still get to teach you."

"Oh. OH. Wait, I don't want to go back!" You said, "Can I use my magic?"

"Yes, and the magic and skills you learned here."

"Oh." You looked at your staff. "Wait wait, what can I do with the oracle coven?" You asked. "I'm still new! I don't-"

"Calm down."

"But I don't know how to use the oracle coven to my advantage, yeah noel magic, but not the oracle coven!"

"Calm down, Y/n! I know you got this. Just...try."

"That's some helpful advice!" You snap. You paused and looked down. "Sorry...I'll try."

He smiled. "It's fine. Let's go to the throne room."

He turned and he looked back at you. "And..please know...I won't be going easy on you."

You looked at him and sigh. "I know. You aren't like that." You smiled at him and followed him to the the throne room.

"The fight stops when one opponent is unable to continue. Ready..."

You held your crystal ball, shaking slightly. Your other hand held your staff. Hunter noticed and gave you a look. You could hear his voice. Focus.

"Set."

You touched the crystal slightly and gripped your staff. He lowered his body readying his staff. Calm down, Y/n.

"Start."

You summoned a ghost-like entity. You swished your staff away from you disappear and run at him, ending up behind him as the entity starts to attack Hunter.

Hunter made the entity disappear with his staff and you came up behind him. He turned and shot the magic from his staff at you.

You blocked it with ice that came up out of the ground you became invisible from Hunter's sight and he tried to find out where you were. You were silent somehow.

You were running using your speed to make it impossible for him to know where you'll attack next.

You slammed the bottom of your staff into the ground making bushes and vines push and throw him in the air. You shot your magic at the plants and they disappear making Hunter fall on him back.

His staff fell from his hand but he got it, got a glimpse of you and shot magic at you  without getting up just yet. It hit your cheek with a large cut, but you hit your staff in the ground yet again, making vines and those vines wrap around Hunter's body.

You sped to him kicking the staff across the room. Hunter is unable to fight.

You win.

You expected Hunter to use his magic to get out. He didn't so you made the vines disappear. Hunter got up.

"Good job, Y/n. Hunter, please train more."

You thanked him and Hunter nodded before you two left.

You had gotten into the hallway when Hunter pushed you against the wall. "Huh-" You gasped as he grabbed your cheek, examining it.

"Are you okay?" He asked quietly. "I didn't mean to actually break skin."

Your heart thuds against your chest. "Uh...yeah. It's fine...are you okay?"

He smiled. "Yeah. You did a great job."

Your face burned as you looked him in the eyes. "Uh....thanks.."

His eyes drop to your lips and he's quiet. When he finally spoke, it was soft, and quiet.

"Can I kiss you?"
