It was two days later and Junmyeon was interrogating the raven head. His hands were yet again cuffed to the table, "Can't you untie me? I'm innocent here, Hyung." The shorter male pondered as a sigh left his friend's lips.
"You out of all people should know I'd never do this to Sehun, no matter what!"
Before the detective could react anything, the door opened to reveal Kyungsoo, "I think I've found something, detective Kim." Junmyeon nodded and turned to Chanyeol. He unlocked the cuffs before heading out following the medical examiner out.
Chanyeol massaged his sore wrists and smiled at the detective who never returned it.
Outside the room, Kyungsoo handed the detective a file, "I had Jongin get the CCTV footage from the building and look closely," he referred to the pictures where Chanyeol had been caught on. "He's wearing gloves here, right?"
Junmyeon nodded, "Why would he take it off just before hitting Sehun? If he did not want to get caught, he would have kept them on and what's more interesting is that..." he showed another picture, "he did not have them when we found him. There were no gloves in the whole scene."
"What if he threw them away?"
"Seeing how much he was bleeding, there would've been blood if he had tried to walk. But I and Jongin found nothing in the entire place."
Junmyeon sighed in relief as he looked through the pictures. "Let's get these in. You've done a very good job, doc" the other smiled as he took his leave. As he walked away, the detective went back to the room and saw the raven head writing down something.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to remember if anyone was with me when I was talking with Sehun that day. But it was not on speaker either, someone must have hacked my phone."
Junmyeon leaned on the desk placing down the file, "Who do you think it could be?" Chanyeol gulped, he remembered the man from the CCTV footage and he fit just perfect. But there was one feature which did not quite go well as he looked down at the bit of paper he had scribbled on.
"Uh, no. Not yet but I'll let you know when I get more information."
The detective nodded, "Go home and stay out of trouble, Yeol. Please." Chanyeol stared at him bewildered, "But..." Junmyeon patted his shoulder, "Jongin and Yifan were adamant on proving your innocence and they did. Kyungsoo seconded it so now you're free."
Chanyeol wanted to jump in happiness but held it in seeing the stoic face of the elder, "So you didn't do anything?" Junmyeon shook his head, "No, I did not want to. If you had really tried to hurt him, I did not wish to see you a free man."
The raven head clearly hurt by it masked his tears with a small smile and walked out the room with a single nod at the elder. As he walked towards the exit, his eyes caught Jongin who was busy discussing something with his boyfriend.
The raven head could not help hug the two but soon pulled away with a hiss as the gunshot wound stung. "Woah, careful there, mister. Don't wanna end up in hospital again now, do we?" Kyungsoo snickered and Jongin followed soon.
"Thank you so much. I would not be free if not for you guys," said the officer thanking his two friends.
"It's alright. We were just following orders. Detective Kim stayed up at the roof for a long time trying to get you out so bad that night. We sent him home and picked up where he left off. If anything, you should be thanking him, dude."
Chanyeol's eyes softened, his heart finally at ease. Junmyeon was yet to give up on him and that was all he needed. Feeling eyes on him, the raven head looked up. He waved at the detective with a huge grin but the elder blinked before walking away with an awkward cough.
