"Why don't you three just say it at the same time and you'll just know if it's the same one?" Yixing suggested with a chuckle but the other three actually agreed to it. "On the count of three then?"
Chanyeol and Sehun nodded.
Wu Yifan!
The three looked at each other and Yixing burst out into laughter, "Wu Yifan? As in you guys' friend, Wu Yifan? Yeah, right." Seeing Sehun's stern eyes, he went silent, "It was really him?" The detective nodded.
"I remember it clear as day. When he hit me on my head that night. I knew he was closer to Chanyeol and that's why I wanted to tell him about Yifan before arresting him; I think he overheard his phone call."
Chanyeol clenched his fist, "How could he do this?" Junmyeon after being silent till then looked up, "I think I know but we need to catch him before that. He would have known by now that we're onto him."
"I can help you guys track him down," Yixing offered and the three nodded. It was about half an hour later and they had no luck with finding Yifan. Chanyeol had gone out to the man's house but found no one there as well and when asked, the landlord said the man had made his payments that evening and disappeared.
"Did he tell you where he was going?" The old man shook his head, "He took his car though. I guess he might be staying at someone else's place for a while." Chanyeol raised a brow, "He only had a couple of bags, not much things, Sir."
The officer dialed Junmyeon, "Run his plate, he's on the road." Once the detective conveyed it to his boyfriend, the man had no trouble breaking into the systems to track down the number. "Did you just hack into the police database that fast?" Yixing nodded with a wink, "Nothing is impossible for me, baby. Plus this security is shit! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!"
The two detectives rolled their eyes at the insult and puffed their cheeks. "And, I'll let you guys know I just found our guy's ride at the Omelas Motel." As soon as Chanyeol got the message, he drove there.
Walking in the lobby, he coughed as the strong odor of liquor and cigarette tickled his nostrils. The receptionist had a cancer stick stuck between his lips and head drowned in the playboy in his hand. The man paid no attention to the officer who had walked in.
Chanyeol cleared his throat but nothing. The impatient raven head slammed his hand on the desk and this had the man looking up at him. He rolled his eyes, "No vacancy, big guy. Get lost." The officer gritted his teeth before getting his badge out of his pocket.
The man was quick to stand up and put away the magazine. He bowed at the tall male before putting out his cigarette. "Welcome, Sir! How can I help you tonight?" Chanyeol clicked his tongue before getting out a picture of Yifan.
"Where's this man right now?"
He shook his head, "We have a strict policy against disclosing guests' information, you s--" Chanyeol pulled him by his collar, eyes dark, "Will you rather tell me or have a gun shooting a bullet down your throat?"
"201, sir," he handed a bunch of keys to the officer and pointed to a specific one, "this is the key, Sir." The raven head nodded leaving the man before running upstairs. Once in front of the room, leaned his ear on the door to check if there was anything out of the ordinary.
He knocked once before putting the key in. His left hand clutched the gun tucked in his back while the other hand cautiously pushed open the door. "Yifan? It's me!" he said walking in. Chanyeol pushed the bathroom door open but there was no sign of anyone.
As he walked into the bedroom, he could see a few bags on the bed. The tall man locked the door and put away the gun before rummaging through the things. The first thing he got was the black hoodie with a hole. It reeked of blood confirming that it was the same hoodie through which he had stabbed the MO that night at Luhan's.
