Prologue

Korra was on her daily stroll with Naga. she has been with the white lotus for the past 13 years , she went to strolls with Naga because it  made her feel not so trapped and little more free .

When she was getting near the shore and she notice a figure. Her and Naga go closer to see the figure more closely . they get close noticing the figure was a girl covered in wounds and they hurry and take her to katara.

Korra gets to Katara and enters her hut out of breath "Katara!, we need help" Katara look at Korra and notice she was not alone. "What happened Korra " Katara gets up and walks to their direction. "I was on my stroll and found her near the shore " Katara helps Korra bring the girl down and lays the girl in healing water. Katara is completely done healing the girl " okay, I'm done . She just needs to rest now ". " thanks Katara for helping me" she lets out a relief sigh " so Korra would you do when she wake up". Korra thinks to herself and nothing comes to mind. " I don't know".

Later the girl opens the her eye just looking at the ceiling for awhile. she finally lets out a deep sigh and she wonders where she is at. Korra hears and goes to her " hey are you feeling okay . If not you can tell me " the girl slow sits up and looks around " I feel okay , so where am I " " ohh um you in the southern pole and in a hut . So what's your name " the girl looks at Korra " my name is Y/N and your name is " I'm Korra nice to meet you , do you have parents they might be wor—." Y/N then interrupts Korra " I don't have a family or anyone" she look down .

Korra then thinks this her chance to have a friend that not part of the white lotus "Why don't you stay with me , I can be your family . We can become best friends" she stay silent for a second and thinks to herself  what Korra said was weird saying that becauses she's just a stranger, but she had no where to go so why not. she looks back at Korra with a smile "sure , I never had a friend before . This means your my first friend Korra" Korra face lights up and hugs Y/N " okay now we got to find for you stay her with me Y/N.

Katara return to the seeing the girls talk "it good you have finally woke up. does you body feel okay " she smile at the girls and walks close to the girls " Katara do you think their will be a way for Y/N to stay here with me " " Korra , what about—." Korra then interrupts her " she has no one or no place . Please Katara" Katara rests her hand on Korra's shoulder and looks at the girl "you have no one or place to get too, are you a waterbender " Y/N looks at Katara " yes and I am a waterbender " Katara looks at her with a smile " then you will stay as my student "

Y/N gives Katara a smile " thank you for giving my this opportunity " Korra gives Katara a tight hug " thank you Katara for this ." " friendships are important and there nothing wrong giving people a little help to get the through life"

After that Y/N and Korra train water bending with Katara the next few years
