I'm currently flying to the Netherlands. I'm checking my Instagram feed, there is a lot of Alexia everywhere as she has won the Global Sports Award last night. I'm so proud of her, she deserves it all, and we'll need to celebrate that once she comes home.
There is also a lot of Barcelona pictures as the club started to tease my arrival. They created a countdown, the slogan being:
"When a present can hide another. Merry Christmas Culers, we'll offer you the World soon enough."
The fact they wanted to announce both Aitana's re-signing and my transfer on the same day is pretty great. I won't get all the attention and I'm more than okay with that.
My flight ends and I spend some time to take back my luggage. Once I'm done with that, I walk to the exit, and quickly I spot Jill and her family. Jill is snapping me, as always, and her brothers come to hug me.
"I see who missed me the most." I laugh looking at Jill's phone.
"Clearly not me, bro." Jill jokes around, and gives me a big hug. "I lied. I've missed you."
"That's great, because I've missed you too." I kiss her cheek and we start to chat.
After some time, we arrive in Oldenzaal, at Jill's family house. I greet her parents and her sister-in-law.
"We are so happy to have you here." Chantal hugs me tightly.
"Have you brought some Spain shirts for us?" René smirks at me and I hand him one of my shirts.
"Merry Christmas." I smile and he chuckles.
"She passed the test; she can stay here tonight." Jill's Dad winks at me.
Her family is like my family now. We were always on the phone during quarantine, so I've spent many hours with the Dutch family.
They show me around and after that we eat all together and around 10 pm, we go to Jill's room.I scroll through Instagram and keep looking at my beautiful girlfriend in that superb silver dress.
"So, drooling girl." She jumps on her bed. "How is it going with Alexia?"
"She is getting stressed about New Year's Eve, but it's alright." I chuckle. "I can tell she is more relaxed than before her holidays."
"Why is she scared?" Jill frowns.
"I don't think it has something to do with us, honestly." I giggle and Jill does a strange face. "No, I swear she gets the entire "I'm just spending time with my friends" thing; she is more scared about María cheating on Alba."
"Oh..." Jill realizes. "That's something else. A better thing to be mad at."
"Yes, but if I let that happen, I'm dead like truly and simply dead..." I sigh. "And I have Leila and Patri to help get closer..."
"Busy woman, I see." She chuckles. "Not to forget, you'll have to prevent me from destroying Ingrid."
"Oh, damn." I fall on the couch heavily. "Death is coming for me."
"I'll help you." Jill smiles. "I've got ideas to keep Mapi busy, and to make Patri and Leila get closer. You'll just have to manage me."
"Sounds good." I laugh.
"Let's have fun." Jill chuckles. "I'll send a message to Viv to know what we do tomorrow."
The next day, we meet with our friends at the football field early in the morning because Viv wanted to train a bit. She misses playing with her Dutch friends since Daan and Jill have left Arsenal, and she always loved to play with me during holidays.
"Hey, Worldie." Lisa greets me. "How are you since our last game?"
"Perfectly fine." I smile widely.
"Ready to play the Champions League?" Viv hugs me.
"I can't wait to play it again. I hope to win my fifth Champions." I smirk.
"Such an amazing player." Jill rolls her eyes playfully.
"Don't be jealous, loser." I hit her arm, and she runs after me. "I'm too fast for you."
"I hate you." Jill stops running exhausted. "Let's play football."
We play for two hours before Lisa and I find ourselves on the side of the pitch, tired of the game we've been playing for some time now.
"So, Barcelona, is it?" She wonders.
"Yes, I couldn't say no to that. Champions League winner, favorite for La Liga and La Copa de la Reina... and to be at the EURO, it's the best option." I reflect.
"You're right, it's an amazing opportunity, Viv had thought about Barcelona too." Lisa comments. "Or PSG."
"Both are great. But there is Jenni at Barcelona, wouldn't it be difficult to play?" I wonder.
"That's what her agent said." Lisa nods.
"I'll try to see if I hear something interesting for her in Barcelona, I'll tell you." I wink at her, and we join Jill and Viv who are walking to the car.
Then, we go home to shower, and we join them again to spend time with Shanice and Lieke who have arrived too. We decide to stay at Viv's family home to party because her family isn't there. Daan is joining us tonight too, it's been a while since I've seen her so I'm pretty glad. We are always the worst during parties and I can tell I'm going to have a good time tonight.
