Alexia's POV
I am sitting in the bus, clearly mad as hell. I went to talk to Jenni as Victoria suggested but instead of being a comforting talk with my best friend, it turned to the most awful fight we've ever had. She said bad things to me about my recent behavior, I told her things I didn't even think about her potential move to Madrid, but then, she attacked me on the one subject she knows she can't use against me. Victoria.
I didn't even notice they were close enough for Jenni to know about her ex. They haven't been friends before, sure thing they get along well but most of the time they've spent together I was there. They talk about football, families, travels, but not about girls and ex relationships.
At least, that's what I thought. I angrily clench my jaw when I see Victoria walking to the bus with Jenni's arm around her shoulder as if it wasn't enough already. I put my AirPods on and hide myself with my hoodie allowing a tear to roll down my cheek.
Once we arrive at the station, I take some pictures with people who recognize us, and then I go straight to the train. I sit and get comfortable. After a while, I feel someone sitting next to me.
"Jenni told me about the fight." Mapi tells me. "Want to talk about it?"
"What did she tell you?" I frown.
"Oh, about everything, starting with her frustration, to your sudden wish for her to move to Madrid, to Victoria's ex." Mapi casually mentions. "You two don't know when to stop fighting, don't you?"
"She just knows how to hurt me." I sigh.
"Victoria." She points out.
"How could she have told Jenni and not me?" I turn to Mapi with tears in my eyes.
"Are you sure she told her?" Mapi wonders. "Couldn't Jenni find out any other way?"
"I don't know, she didn't know her while she was in Paris, the only ones who know are Sandie and Virginia." I state and it hits me. "Oh God, I'm so dumb."
"What?" Mapi chuckles.
"Virginia must have told Jenni... they were together last week, and we've talked about Vic's ex during our phone call, they might have talked about it afterwards." I explain.
"Would sound a lot like Virg." Mapi agrees and I turn to see where Victoria is. "She is sleeping."
"I can see that." I nod. "I've been hard on her."
"We've heard..." Mapi says.
"Shit. Sorry, guys. You shouldn't have to witness things like that." I apologize.
"We all get through this, Ale." Marta winks at me from the opposite seat. "It's going to be fine. Go talk to her."
I nod and stand up. I walk to Victoria and Aitana, who travelled with us, gives me her place. As I sit, Victoria opens one eye and closes it really quickly.
"I know you are awake." I smile a bit.
"Oh, wow, you calmed down." She acknowledges and looks at me sleepily. "Ready to talk about it?"
"Yes..." I whisper. "I'm sorry for getting mad at you."
"I know you are." She softly takes my hand. "The moment Jenni told me about your fight, I knew I was in trouble."
"Why?"
"Because that's how your brain works, Ale." She chuckles. "You'll take the worst option as the reality just to avoid deception."
"Yeah... I was just scared you trust her more than me." I admit.
"But you know it's not true, I love you and I trust you. If I'm going to tell something like this to someone, it'll be to you. Not anyone else." She makes me look at her. "Not anyone else."
"I believe you." I look at her in the eyes. "I need to have a talk with Virg though."
"Definitely something WE need to do." She winks at me, and I caress her cheek. "Too bad we are in the train, right?"
"Too bad, indeed." I chuckle.
We end the way together, and after that we join the training center with our bus.
Victoria's POV
After we exit the train, some girls need to go to the toilets. As we are waiting for them, Patri, Marta, Sandra, Mapi, Mel and I take John on the side to ask him to put Jennifer and Alexia in the same room, no matter what. Since he felt the atmosphere was heavy between those two, he quickly accepts, trusting us to take care of it.
We all gather as if nothing has happened, and quickly enough, Alexia walks back to me showing me some new shoes Nike has just posted. We keep talking in the bus and once we are at the hotel, Alexia turns to me worriedly.
"Who are you rooming with, babe?" She scratches the back of her head.
"Aitana and Leila, we asked for the room of three since it brought us luck with the National Team." I smile widely. "What about you?" I fake an innocent smile.
"I don't know, I hope Andrea will share a room with me..." She looks at John giving keys to Sandra and Andrea. "Or not..." Alexia sighs.
"Hermoso and Putellas." Johnathan shouts making them look at each other. "Number 218, right next to our Golden Trio, 219 for Ouahabi, Bonmati and Chamberlain, let's go, girls!"
"You have to be kidding me." Alexia growls.
"Talk to her, without tension, please." I walk to the elevator after kissing her cheek gently. "And you." I point at Jenni. "Behave, please."
"I'll try, Worldie." She sighs and follows me.
The five of us enter the elevator and the atmosphere thickens. I look at Leila and Aitana with a defeated look on my face and I know Alexia has noticed, because she takes my hand in hers, and squeezes it gently. As we exit the elevator, Jennifer goes first followed by my roommates, and Alexia stops me.
"If you hear us scream, you're welcome to save my life, okay?" She smiles.
"Just try to have a normal discussion, please, you two love each other." I state. "Put that pride on the side, she is important to you."
"I know..." Alexia sighs and hugs me tightly. "Thank you for being here always, and sorry for getting easily mad at you."
"You're lucky I love you." I roll my eyes playfully and she laughs.
"Very lucky." She kisses me. "I love you too."
"Now, go. And be nice." I warn her.
"Yes, ma'am." She chuckles and enters her room.
