Day Off

January 16th, 2022, Barcelona

            Our game has been postponed because the Real Sociedad team had some COVID cases. Alexia is being annoyed by it, and I need to find something cool to do, or else it's going to be a really long day...

Alexia 👑🥰 : No, but really, COVID is going to be the death of me, babe... 😭😭 I wanted to play today, and we don't even train, what the hell am I going to do???

Victoria 💥😍 : I know, love 🙄 want to do something to get your mind off of it ? Leila and Patri wanted to go shopping, Jennifer is going to see the Atlético game, Alba and Mapi are going for a walk near the beach... what do you want to do?

Alexia 👑🥰 : Can we spend time just the two of us? 😇

Victoria 💥😍 : Sure thing 🥰 do you want to do something outside or are you not in the mood?

Alexia 👑🥰 : Do you like hiking?

Victoria 💥😍 : Of course, do you know a place?

Alexia 👑🥰 : Trust me on that one, be ready in 40, I'll be there.

            I chuckle at her sudden motivation, because I won't lie, I like that. I get ready and wait for her to arrive. Once she is parked in front of my apartment, she tells me to take good shoes, water, and a cap. I do as she says, and I join her. She happily drives to the place where we have to park singing to some old jams. I laugh a lot because she is so cute when she is overexcited like that.

"We are here." She states and looks at me. "You're the first person I bring here."

"Why is that?" I wonder.

"It was my father's favorite spot. Only him and I went here to hike." She looks down and I take her hand gently. "I hope you are ready, because it's a hard one."

"As long as you are with me, I'll be fine." I smile cheekily and kiss her cheek.

"Such a sweet talker." Alexia rolls her eyes playfully.

"Only for you, of course." I chuckle.

"You better." She winks at me and kisses my hand. "Let's go."

            We exit the car and get ready. Once we are all set up, we start to walk on a beautiful path with a breathtaking view on Barcelona and the sea. On our way, we discuss a lot of things, starting with her memories, her first games with Barcelona, why she went to Levante, how she reacted to her first call with the National Team and so much more subjects.

            After two hours, we stop at the top of the little mountain we've just climbed. We look at the view and she hugs me from behind, kissing my temple.

"It's beautiful." I whisper.

"You're beautiful." She whispers back and I turn to her. "I'm glad I brought you here."

"Thanks for doing so, I wouldn't have wished for more." I lean against her chest. "You know, Ale, you often say to people you're lucky to have me... truth be told, I'm the lucky one, thank you for opening up to me, for showing me the things that make you happy, for making me the happiest girl on Earth."

"Babe..." She says tearing up a bit.

"I mean it." I turn to her and kiss her softly. "Thank you for letting me be in your life."

            She kisses me with love and passion before we are interrupted by her phone ringing. She looks at it quickly and smiles widely.

"Jenni!" She greets our friend.

"What about me?" I recognize Virginia's voice.

"Ohhhh best friends!" Alexia smiles even bigger.

"What are you doing, loser?" Jennifer wonders. "Why didn't you want to come with me?"

"I'm hiking." Alexia answers while rolling her eyes.

"Is Vic with you?" Virginia excitedly asks.

            I know Virginia because she used to play in Montpellier with Sandie, we've spent a lot of time together during her years in France and when I was healing from my broken ankle, she offered me to come to her recovery center.

"Of course, she is." Alexia chuckles. "Where else do you want her to be?"

"You never know she might have stayed home to watch Jill playing." Jennifer teases.

"Jenni..." I roll my eyes as Alexia turns the camera to me clearly annoyed.

"What?" She acts innocent.

"Stop messing with her like that." I warn her gently. "How are you, Virg?"

"I'm doing better, and I have good news." She smiles widely. "I wanted you two to be the first to know."

"After me, of course." Jennifer winks at us.

"I'll be able to play again very soon, probably for the Supercopa Final." Virginia happily announces.

"Ohhhh, really?" I excitedly jump everywhere, and she nods. "It's great!!!"

"I'm so proud of you." A tear rolls on Alexia's cheek. "You deserve that."

"I hope it'll be against us." I state and hug Alexia. "Some people will be really pleased to witness that." I kiss Alexia's temple and she tightens her grip around my waist.

"They are cute together, aren't they?" Jenni smiles at us.

"Really cute, I rather see you with Alexito than with your ex cheating girlfriend." Virginia points at me.

"I don't understand why..." I fake a smile.

"I'm happy for you, babes." Virginia chuckles and sends us a smile.

"See you tomorrow, mates." Jennifer sends us a kiss and hangs up.

"Time to go?" Alexia offers and I nod. "Do you know Virginia well?"

"We spent a lot of time together, yes." I quickly answer. "She is maybe the reason why I'm still playing football today."

"Care to explain?" Alexia frowns.

"When I broke my ankle, I nearly stopped playing but she gave me the strength to continue. I couldn't give up knowing she would never do something like this."

"Oh..." Alexia understands. "I didn't know."

"No one knows." I kiss her cheek and start to walk.

            We take less time to go down to the car, but we stop to take pictures of our day. Once we are back to my apartment, I invite Alexia for the night, and we watch a movie while cuddling. I fell asleep quickly, being completely exhausted by our walk. I feel Alexia getting up to turn off the TV and the lights, and then she comes back to the bed, stopping herself to take a long look at me.

"Don't do this..." I whisper half asleep.

"Do what?" She chuckles.

"Looking at me sleeping while I'm waiting for you to keep me warm again." I explain waiting for her to come back.

"Come here." She says as she enters the bed, opening her arm for me. "Are you comfy?"

"Always when I'm in your arms." I kiss her neck, and she kisses my forehead. "Goodnight, baby."

"Goodnight, love."
