Zoey narrates.
I arrive home after a day of shopping and head upstairs to my bedroom, where I find Aaron sitting on the bed, reading a book.
'Hey, babe.' He says, grinning, as I join him, sitting beside him and leaning in close, my head resting on his shoulder.
'Guess what?' I say, frowning.
'What?' He asks, putting his book down and focussing his attention on me.
'Someone in the mall asked if Zara was my daughter.' I say, repulsed.
'So? She is your daughter, right? Unless there's something you need to tell me, Zoey? Who is this guy and where does he live?' Aaron replies, as I roll my eyes, but laugh.
'No, the point is that whenever we're usually together, people always assume that she's my sister. Which means...' I say, breathing in and bracing myself.
'I'm now old and look my age.' I say, making a distraught face, as Aaron laughs.
'It's not even funny!' I say, standing up and going over to look at myself in the mirror.
I inspect my face first.
'I don't have any wrinkles.' I say, as I then lift up my shirt and look at my stomach.
'I'm still in good shape...well actually great shape.' I say, turning around to inspect my ass.
'My ass is probably my favourite feature.' I add.
'There is no way I look even a day over 25!' I say, exaggerating, all the while Aaron admires me from the bed.
He gets up and comes over to me, wrapping his arms around my front and kissing the side of my head. He then pushes my hair away from my neck and starts to kiss the back, moving toward the side of my neck, and then sucking at it. Then, he lets go and goes over to sit on the edge of the bed.
'You're not even going to agree?!' I say, shocked.
'Zoey, come here.' He says, as I reluctantly oblige. He pulls me on to my lap, and I straddle him, positioning my legs on either side of him, but still frowning.
'You're perfect.' He says, placing his hands on my waist.
'Really?' I ask, softly.
'You're beautiful, you're sexy, hot as hell. And that's only your looks. You're smart and funny and you're kind of awkward sometimes, which I find very cute. You're powerful, you always work so hard, and most importantly you love people so deeply.' He says, kissing my lips after, and I can't help but smile.
'It's not all about looks, even though you are absolutely stunning and you look exactly the same as when I first met you, and you're still way out of my league.' He adds.
'I suppose that's true. I am out of your league.' I reply, as he laughs.
'You'll still always be this Zoey Johnson to me, so screw what anyone else thinks?' He says, as I nod, holding his face and stroking it.
'And even when we're both old and wrinkly I'd still hit it.' He says, smirking, as I lean in and kiss him hard, deepening it with every breath.
I push him on to the bed, still straddling him, as I lean down and continue kissing him, until he flips me over and we both laugh.
'And also, I love all of you but your ass is something else.' He whispers, followed by a whistle.
'I love you too.' I say, laughing.

That night, in an attempt to make me feel young again after my complaining, Aaron arranges a spontaneous night out with our married couple friends, Jazz and Doug and Luca and Jillian.
We get all dressed up, me wearing a sparkly mini dress, one which I haven't worn in years, and head to a local club.
'So, here's to a great night, just like back in our college days, celebrating us.' Aaron says, raising his glass.
'Cheers to that.' Luca says.
'Thanks for arranging this, Aaron. What a great idea!' Jazz says.
'Okay, i'm good for another round!' I say, already slightly tipsy, swaying against Aaron's body.
The next thing I know, I'm taking shot after shot with Aaron, sloppily kissing him in between.
'Woah!' I shout, spilling a drink, as we all erupt into laughter, and I look up at Aaron who grins widely. I kiss him firmly, as we carry on eating and drinking into the night.
'Oh my god, I love this song! Aaron, can we dance?' I ask, as I don't wait for his response, instead, taking his hand and pulling him over to the dance floor, as we move to the beat, keeping our bodies aligned, the music blasting through our ears, Aaron's hands never leaving my body and our eyes continuously locked. In that moment it feels like there's no one else in that club except us.
The best feeling.
_____It's around 2am by the time Aaron and I stumble back home, evidently drunk. We laugh together, as Aaron grips my waist when we enter, as I kick my heels off.
'Shhh. Be quiet, the kids are probably asleep.' I whisper, as he vigorously nods.
'Zoey, shhh.' He replies, as I laugh, and he kisses me all over my face.
Suddenly, to our surprise, the light turns on, and Aaron pulls me closer, his hand gripping me tightly as we look on shocked at Zara, who stands there looking at us confused, in her pyjamas with a plate and a sandwich in her hand.
'You're still awake?' I whisper, almost falling down, but Aaron holds me up.
'Yeah, I got hungry...where have you guys been?' She asks confused.
'We went out to dinner.' Aaron responds, trying to stand up straight.
Zara inches closer and smells the air around us.
'Are you guys drunk?' She asks, surprised.
'No....'I say, looking guilty.
'You're so cute. I'm going to my room. Goodnight.' She says, smiling at us, as though she's proud.
'Do you want to go to sleep now?' I ask.
'I thought you'd never ask.' Aaron replies, as we laugh and flop down on the couch in the living room, as I lie on top of Aaron and we fall into a deep sleep, his arms wrapped around me.
I go to sleep that night knowing that no matter how I feel about myself, Aaron will always be my number one cheerleader and will always make me feel like I'm the only girl in the world that matters. I could not be more grateful for my incredible husband.
