The white haired girl stirs awake to sounds of crows cawing outside. A brief wave of panic washes over her as she opens her eyes to a foreign ceiling. Disoriented, she abruptly sits up only to wince in pain due to a splitting headache.
Evening light cascades into the room, the unfamiliar blue drapes on the window glimmering softly. The orange and pink hues of the sky is a striking contrast to the dark of crows flying by. The tree outside the window sways its bare branches to the chilly evening breeze, bare and dead, yet still so beautiful.
As (Y/N) remembers that she'd gone to sleep in the mansion, her disorientation and anxiousness fade away. She supports her head against the palm of her hand as it hangs low between her shoulders, the sharp piercing headache subsiding very slowly. She stirs to the edge of the bed before getting up. As she walks towards the door of the bedroom, the handle turns from the other side, opening just a crack.
"Oh, you're up." Alistair says, eyes widening slightly as he peeks in from the door. (Y/N) nods before opening the door wider.
"I- uh, should I have... knocked?" Alistair says slowly, realization striking him as he looks at (Y/N)'s messy clothes, bed hair and furrowed eyebrows.
"No, it's fine, I was about to leave the room anyways." (Y/N) says, yawning softly, her head still throbbing with a constant dull pain.
"How are you feeling now, (Y/N)?? I came to ask what you wanted for dinner? Do you want something easy to digest or do you want the regular course meal? Do you wanna eat in your room or in the family dining hall? Oh! the chef still makes amazing pies, do you wanna try some after dinner? Oh and th-"
"Alistair... slowly, speak slowly." (Y/N) stifles a laughter as she looks at the black haired boy in front of her, his crimson red eyes practically sparkling from excitement.
Alistair immediately stops talking, embarrassment washing over him as he realizes he'd been blabbering on in excitement without even realizing. Faint pink dusts over his cheeks and ears as turns his head to the side, clearing his throat, embarrassed.
"Uhm- yes, of course, sorry."
A smile slowly spreads across (Y/N)'s face as the laughter she'd been holding in escapes softly.
"Let's go have dinner with everyone, Alistair."

(Y/N) is standing on the balcony, her hair dancing along with the cold winter wind that pricks her skin. The amethyst of her eyes glow under the pale moonlight illuminating the balcony while little puffs of white escape her lips as she exhales. Her eyes stare off to the distance, slightly glazed over as her mind starts to wonder off to places. Places she wasn't very fond of, yet always found its way to settle over her mind.
"It's so fucking cold, I hate it." Alistair grumbles as he steps out into the balcony.
A smile tugs on (Y/N)'s lips,
"Yet here you are coming out into the balcony." She glances to the side and sees Alistair stand next to her.
"I'm just worried for the well-being of my ever-so-sickly sister." He says teasingly while rolling his eyes.
(Y/N) laughs as a comfortable silence falls over the two. The hooting of an owl echoes in the dark of the night while the branches of trees rustle soundlessly in the wind.
