Over the next few days Loki had definitely acted like he was a caring and doting boyfriend. He was being cautious with his actions though to ensure I was comfortable with him. There were times he would verbally ask me; other times he would give me a look and I knew I could respond with a nod.
The first day after our talk on the couch I walked into the kitchen while Loki was still making breakfast. When he spotted me, he approached me with a smile and pulled me into a gentle hug as he kissed the top of my head. He had made me a cup of coffee and fixed me a plate of the food he had prepared for breakfast. He continued to do that each morning. A simple but sweet gesture.
Once I finished eating, he would walk me to Tony's lab so I could work with him on whatever project he had going on. Then at lunch time he appeared in the lab to check on me. The first time he walked in and over to the chair I sat in kissing the top of my head I thought Tony was going to faint.
In the evenings after dinner, we would curl up together on the couch. We would cuddle and spend time with the others in the tower. Loki would usually read while I engaged with the others or watched TV with them. It was something that just seemed too natural for the two of us.
It was a lazy Saturday when the whole crew was lounging in the living room. Although tonight I noticed Loki wasn't occupying our usual couch away from the others but was in a large armchair within the group. I began to walk over to one of the couches when I heard Loki call my name catching my attention.
"Where do you think you're going darling," he questioned me teasingly, making me stop like a deer in headlights. I stood there for a moment not saying a word, just looking at Loki with my mouth open. "Come here darling," he drawled, crooking a finger beckoning me over to the chair.
I awkwardly made my way over as the rest tried to watch without being obvious. Once I was in front of Loki, he wasted no time gently scooping me into his arms and settling back into the chair. For a moment I was shocked until Loki gave me that look to make sure I was okay with this. I gave him a slight nod and a small, nervous smile. I nuzzled my head into his chest, getting comfortable.
"You know I never thought I would say this but the two of you actually look cute together," Steve spoke up directing the comment to Loki and me. "He's right. You two do make a cute couple," Natasha added with a smirk.
I looked up at Loki to see his reaction to what Steve said. He just looked at Steve for a moment before he smirked and looked down at me. He dropped a soft kiss to my forehead before looking back at Steve. "Well, I'm glad to hear we are convincing," he smirked, causing the group to laugh.
The conversation continued to flow as I sat curled in Loki's lap. Both Natasha and Wanda were shooting me looks as if to say "I told you so" every now and then. I would roll my eyes in response and bury my head in Loki's chest to hide the blush on my cheeks.
Eventually people began to wander off to bed. I firmly stayed put enjoying my current position. It was a slow process but eventually Loki and I were the last ones still in the living room. Once the last person had left, I looked up at Loki and studied him for a moment.
Over the last several days he had been the one to initiate any affection due to my being too shy. He had been nothing but respectful and didn't push anything. He was perfect at playing the role of the perfect boyfriend. It made me feel things I hadn't felt in a long time, and I had to keep telling myself he was doing me a favor. A favor that I really appreciated.
As I sat there thinking I gathered my courage and stretched up to place my lips to his jaw. The action made him stiffen for a moment before I felt him relax again. He looked down at me with a small and confused smile.
"What was that for darling," he asked, setting his book down. I could feel the blush rising in my face.
I sat there for a moment silent, not sure what to say. I felt Loki begin running his hands through my hair. The tender action calmed my nerves as he continued to look at me with his gorgeous blue green eyes.
"I haven't said thank you for doing this. You've been absolutely perfect the last couple of days," I whispered as I looked at him through my lashes. "I really appreciate you doing this. I also need to let you know that we are sharing a room at the beach house," I trailed off looking at my hands.
My mother had called me that morning letting me know that due to the amount of people coming in I would share a room with my boyfriend. So, Loki and I were sharing my usual bedroom at the beach house. I was worried how he would react to having to share a room with me.
"I can sleep on the floor if you're uncomfortable with-" he began but I quickly cut him off.
"No, it's okay. I'm okay sharing a bed with you. I trust you Loki," I hurriedly said, embarrassed that I confessed that to him.
"You trust me," he repeated in a cautious tone. It was as if no one had said that to him before. I nodded and buried my head into his chest, wrapping my arms around his waist.
He didn't say a word but pressed a kiss to my forehead before pressing his to mine, our noses almost touching. I could feel his cool breath fan across my face and my eyes fluttered shut as the feeling. I tilted my head just enough to brush the tip of my nose across his.
He placed his hand on the back of my head holding me in place as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath in. "Can I kiss you," he questioned me softly and brushed his lips across my cheek. I nodded giving him my silent permission.
As soon as I nodded my head, I felt him press a chaste kiss to my cheek before he gently dragged his lips down to mine. The action caused goosebumps to appear over my skin at the sensation of his lips gently against mine. After a moment he pulled back a bit and looked me in my eyes. It was as if he were searching for something for a moment before his lips were back on mine and slowly began to move against mine.
I responded shyly to his kiss while he wrapped both of his arms around my waist holding me to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he tangled his fingers in my hair continuing to kiss me in such a tender manner it took my breath away.
When I finally pulled away for air, I could feel the flush on my face. I took slow breaths to slow my fluttering heart in my chest. I nuzzled my face in the crook of Loki's neck to hide the smile on my face from the kiss we just shared.
It was going to behard to go back to normal when we came back.
