I had been home for about a week now and there was about two weeks until the wedding. I still needed to buy a dress and a few other things I would need for the event as well. I had planned to go out later that afternoon with Natasha and Wanda for a girl's day. I definitely needed it between the stress of the last visit, the impending visit, and having a fake relationship with Loki.

What made it more stressful was that we were staying with my family at a beach house in the Hamptons. I would have to not only share a room but a bed with Loki. I would have to act like his girlfriend and that made me more nervous. I wasn't sure how Loki would act but I knew we needed to discuss it before we left.

I was browsing a rack of dresses with Natasha and Wanda trying to find something for the wedding. I had no idea what I was even looking for at this point. Nothing seemed good enough considering my date was a literal god.

"You should wear green. I think Loki would enjoy seeing you in his colors," Wanda randomly spoke up as she held up a couple emerald color dresses.

I thought about it for a moment. The color would fit in with the wedding and it was no secret that Loki wore green. I nodded to Wanda in agreement to her suggestion and the three of us went in search of the perfect dress.

About fifteen minutes later Natasha was calling my name from across the store. As I walked over, I saw the gorgeous dress that she had in her hands. A large smile grew on my face as I quickly snatched it from her and rushed to the dressing rooms.

Once I had the dress on and looked in the mirror, I was speechless. It was a gorgeous emerald satin with a conservative v-neckline, spaghetti straps, and backless. It hugged my curves perfectly. I had worn a lot of gorgeous dresses but this one was by far my favorite dress I had put on to date.

"Come on and show us," Natasha whined from outside the dressing room. "I found shoes too," Wanda added.

I chuckled a bit as I looked at my reflection one last time before stepping out. The looks on their faces when they saw me was confirmation that I had found my dress. I slipped on the shoes and then gave them a full three sixty show. I couldn't help but laugh at Natasha's satisfied smirk and Wanda's agape mouth.

Looking at their faces I knew this was absolutely perfect for the wedding. "You look amazing Mia," Wanda complimented in awe.

I smiled at her appraisal and blushed a bit from embarrassment. Due to the harsh criticism of my parents my whole life, I wasn't used to hearing positive things about me. There was never a sense of pride from them, just things on which I could always improve.

"Oh, if he doesn't say something after seeing you in this, I have no hope for him," Natasha mumbled, catching my attention as I headed to change out of the dress.

"What was that Nat," I questioned turning back around.

I watched as Natasha looked at Wanda before heaving out an exasperated sigh. "Loki has a thing for you Mia. Everyone sees it, he's just a gentleman," Natasha explained.

I looked at her as if she had three heads. There was absolutely no way Loki had those kinds of feelings towards me. I was a mortal, and he was a god. I was beneath him, at least that was how I saw it.

"Look Mia," Wanda began carefully as she came closer. "You're one of the few people he doesn't taunt, prank, or make snide remarks to. He watches you when you're in the same room. I've also seen him storm off when he's been present during an argument you've had on the phone with Adam. He likes you, whether you've seen it or not. As Nat said, he's been a gentleman about you having a boyfriend."

I shook my head and went back into the fitting room to change. As I did, I pondered what the girls had said to me about Loki. I thought about some of the mildly flirty interactions we had but I wrote it off as friendliness. I also thought about how they were right about him not pulling the same mischief on me as he did some of the others in the tower.
