The remainder of the guests leave later in the evening, leaving the throne room quiet and dark beneath your balcony. You wait up late into the night for Loki to return after, hopefully, calming down. When he doesn't, you walk down to his door and knock. There is no answer so you crack it slightly, peeking your head in.
"Lohk? Are you there?" You whisper lightly.
You frown seeing his bed completely undisturbed. The rest of the room looks as though he has not been there all evening. The stack of books on his window seat have not been touched. The desk in front of the fireplace is riddled with papers and drawings but nothing to indicate where he may have gone.
Sighing softly, you walk back to your own room. Your heart aches and you just want Loki to hold you. You walk out onto the balcony as a soft breeze blows your hair. Where are you Lohk? You shake your head and refuse to let any more tears fall.
Finally, when you see the sky begin to glow a soft pink from first light, you go back into your room and lie down. You drift in and out of sleep, wishing Bucky would visit and tell you what to do, but it seems that he, too, is gone.
Several hours later, there is a knock at your door, pulling you out of your restless sleep. Jumping from your bed, you run to the door.
"Lohk! Where have you be..." you grit your teeth, forcing your face to pull into a smile for Jane.
"Hi Y/N! We looked all over for you last night! Where did you and Loki run off to?" She grins teasingly with a mischievous smile.
You shake your head, frowning, "Have you seen him this morning?" You ignore her insinuation.
Jane quickly notices your change in disposition. "Y/N," her face drops, "what happened?"
Offering her a half smile, you shrug, "Our first fight... well, real one, at least."
She smiles softly and pulls you into a tight embrace, "Oh hun, it won't be the last. As long as I've known Loki, he has loved you. He also has had a flare for the dramatics. Give him some time." She releases you and you nod in agreement, "He'll come around, Y/N. He always does. Hey!" She holds your arms, a smile appearing on her sweet face, "Odin has given you two the day off. What do you say we spend the day lazing around the library? It'll keep your mind busy."
You consider for a moment and smile, knowing she has missed spending time with you. Also, it doesn't seem like Loki is going to be around anytime soon. She smiles as you agree and slip into a simple green dress and pull your hair up into a messy bun.
The two of you have breakfast alone and make your way to the library. You manage to get a couple of books read before your mind drifts back to Loki. You try and fail to push thoughts of him from your head. Your heart hurts as you reflect on his words from last night and the look on his face... god, that breaks your heart. You close your eyes, shaking your head, I've got to make things right but I'll give him until tomorrow.
You spend most of the day with Jane in the library. As it gets later, you make your way back to your chambers. You look out of your balcony over the garden to see if you can see Loki but it has grown quite dark. You look until your eyes are tired from straining out into the night. Giving up, you finally go to bed. Once again, your sleep is restless without even dreams to soften the blow Loki has dealt you. In the early morning hours, you give up trying to sleep and change into a pair of sweatpants and one of Loki's shirts.
You quietly make it to the training room where Bucky used to train with Heimdal and Thor. You are fighting an internal battle- trying to remain calm and understand Loki's side but also being furious at him for not talking to you until he exploded. You land multiple punches to a bag as your frustration grows. He knows I would never make him compete for me. *Punch* I never treated him like he was a replacement! *Punch* He is just being an ass! *Punch* The bag flies across the room, surrounded by your yellow powers.
