Settling in

(Nick's POV)

Aqua left with Alex to talk to Charlie and Billy looked at me "You imprinted on her, didn't you?" I watched as her jeep faded from view and said "Yeah." he said, "She is in a hard place right now." I sighed "I know, but how do I help her?" he said "Charlie isn't going to take too kindly to her and her sister knowing the truth. He is a man of pride and he won't handle it. To help her all you have to do is be there for her." Sam said "You are her wolf, her soulmate. You will know what she needs when she needs it. It will be an instinct." Billy said "Also, don't tell her about wolves and imprinting yet. Let her come to you first. She spends lots of time at the vampire house, so she most likely knows what they are." 

Paul said, "So they either told her we are dangerous or..." I followed his train of thought "...Doesn't know wolves exist." Sam said "Just take your time and be there for her, and realize it could take years for her to get better. Paul, Jared, patrol." They ran off, Sam probably went to see Emily. Billy said "I would try to encourage her to eat, though. I called the vampires yesterday after she came here and the leader told me that she hasn't eaten in weeks. He gave her something to drink, chalked full of protein and vitamins, but she needs to eat." he rolled back inside and I went to take a nap before patrol tonight. 

I was getting ready for patrol while Sam was yelling at me to hurry when someone pounded on the front door. Jake and I emerged from our rooms, Sam was next to Billy but no one moved so I answered the door. Alex was standing there and said "He destroyed her, i... I don't know what to do. Billy help me. Please." Billy said "Where is she?" he looked defeated as he said "In the passenger seat, curled up and crying. I tried to talk to her but either she is ignoring me or zoned out." I immediately pushed past him and opened the door, she was curled up in the seat and silently crying. I lifted her into my arms and she turned her head to bury her face in my chest. Once inside I sat down holding her to my chest as Billy said "Aqua, hun, it will be ok." she whispered "He locked me out. He forced my twin inside and locked me out." she sounded broken, and it hurt me knowing someone who should have loved and cared for her did this to her. 

Billy said "Alex, I know you want to be here for her, but for tonight I think it's best if you leave. We got her, but she needs time to process. The only father she has known her whole life betrayed her, let her come to you." Alex said, "How do I leave her like this?" Billy sighed "It's not easy but know that we will take care of her, and know this is what is best for her right now. I'll call you tomorrow." he kissed her head before leaving. I said, "Sam I'm not leaving." Sam said "No I guess not, you're needed here more. I'll check in tomorrow." he left and Billy said, "Nick, go lay her down, ill take the couch." I said "No uncle B. I'll take the couch, you sleep in your bed. She can have my room." with that, I took her to my room, laid her on the soft bed, and whispered, "Aqualyn, just know you're not alone." I took off her shoes and covered her up before leaving the room. She silently cried herself to sleep, while I sat outside the door wishing I could help her. I fell asleep sitting outside her door in case she needed someone.

(Aqua's POV)

Once I finished unpacking my phone rang so I answered. Alice said, "Hey sweetie, Bella told us what happened." I sighed "Ali..." Alice said, "I know, where are you?" I said "La Push, I'm staying with one of Charlie's friends. He has been there for me a lot growing up and I can't thank him enough for taking me in." she sounded accusatory "What aren't you telling me?" I smiled as I thought of Nick "Well... there's a boy." Now she was interested "A boy?"

she said, "Who is this boy?" I leaned against the wall looking out the window, Nick was wrestling with some other boy, but he was smiling and laughing. Totally at peace, I wish my life were like that. "He is strong, caring, gorgeous, tall I mean he has got to be like 6'3 or 6'4. He gave up his room for me and..." Alice cut me off "Wait, he lives there?" her tone was implying something so I quickly shot her down "Yes, but don't even go there. There is no way he even remotely likes me. I mean like -500% chance of him ever-growing feelings for me."

She sighed over the phone "He would be stupid not to like you Aqua, you are smart, beautiful, caring-" I said "Damaged." she said, "Ok yes, but between the almost rape and your parents abandoning you, you have the right to be hurt, and in need of a guy to swoop in and show you just how amazing you are." I said "He isn't going to swoop in Alice. He knows whats wrong with me, and he is like 20ish he can find a better, older, more mature woman to date, so why wouldn't he." Jasper said "We have to go hunting, but Aqua why would he want that when he could have you? Think it through, don't freak out, and do something you'll regret later. Bye." I said, "I promise Jazz, bye guys I love you." Alice said, "We love you too."

I hung up the phone and heard a knock on the door, I tossed my phone on the bed and opened the door. Alex was standing there "Hey Aqua, I'm just checking on you." I crossed my arms leaning against the door "I don't know, Alex. The people who raised me for 17 years abandoned me for something I didn't even do. How does somebody look at their child and want nothing to do with them?" He said, "I don't know." I went to the kitchen, Alex followed me as I said "I don't even know how to feel right now." Nick came in and said "Then don't feel right now, clear your mind. Have fun. Come out with me, there are some people I want you to meet." I looked up at him "I don't know..." Alex said "I think it's a good idea, go meet some people." I debated for a second and then said "Sure Nick, id love to meet your friends." he smiled and it nearly took my breath away, he said, "Well come on." I nodded and followed him out the door.
