Meeting Nick's Friends

As we walked down the road he asked me all sorts of questions, like my favorite color, food, books, movies, music, basically anything there is to know about me and in return, I asked him everything. Turns out he has a baby sister who is 2 years old, her name is Addilyn Grace. He showed me a picture and she is so freaking cute. We made it to a cabin, or rather I ran and he caught up and wrapped his arms around my waist stilling me. I giggled and he said, "There's that beautiful sound." I heard the door open and the guys that were at Billy's yesterday walked out. I quickly stepped away from Nick and said "Uh... Hi, I'm Aqua." Nick said, "Aqua this is Sam, Jared, Paul, and Emily." I said, "Nice to meet you all." Paul said, "She's a hottie." I rolled my eyes and said, "And dangerous too, wanna test me?" Jared "Ooh, badass, she will get along great here." 

When Paul commented on my looks Nick stepped closer to me and was very tense. Nick said, "Paul, leave her alone." I had to force myself not to smile but damn him standing up for me was hot. Emily said "Ignore Paul, he is a manwhore with anger problems. We are going to the beach, do want to come with us?" Nick said, "I don't know..." I looked at him with my puppy dog face and said "Please Nick? It sounds like fun and you said I need some fun." he looked down at me and immediately conceded. "Alright, let's go." I squealed "Yay!" and took off running. I could hear all the boys laughing but Emily ran up to me and grabbed my hand as we ran to the beach.

Once at the beach, Emily laid a blanket on the sand and I said: "It's so warm out, I wish I brought a swimsuit." Em said, "You could always have Nick go get you one." I laid on the blanket and said "I can't ask him to do that. One: it isn't his job to cater to me. Two: I mean he already gave me his room. I feel bad." she laid on her stomach "Why?" I said "Why do I feel bad?" she nodded "Because, it's my parents who hate me, it's me that screwed up by being born. Billy took me in but at the price of Nick who lost his room, he now shares with Jake and... I tried to apologize but Nick won't let me get the sentence out, so no, I can't ask him." Nick kneeled behind me and said "Because you have nothing to apologize for, it's not your fault Aqua. What cant you ask?" I said, "Don't worry about it." Emily said, "She said she wished she brought a swimsuit..." I said "Emily!" and kicked my shoes off walking to the water's edge. 

Sam stood next to me as I watched the water, he said "He cares about you." I smiled "Yeah, I'm starting to see that. I just don't know why." He said "Only he knows that answer but, you seem like a sweet girl Aqua. Just do me a favor, Nick is one of my best friends so if you don't think anything can go anywhere don't string him along." I said "Don't worry Sam, I would never dream of it. God, if he was interested in me then I would be in heaven." Sam said, "He is though." I shook my head disagreeing with him "He can't be, he can have any girl he wants, he is smart, kind, cute, protective... at least I think so given his response to Paul's comment. What I mean is he can choose anyone. Why me?" I jumped as I felt arms wrap around my waist and his words whisper in my ear "Because Aqualyn there is no one better than you. You are smart, beautiful, caring, and the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."  

Sam had disappeared at some point, I turned in his arms and said "Is there something you want to say to me Nicholas Black?" he looked down at me and said, "I am falling for you, Aqualyn Swan." I said "Are you sure it's me you want? Remember I got problems." he said "One thousand percent. You are who I want forever." I sighed "What about Billy? He took me in, how would he feel? I mean we live under the same roof." Nick said, "He will be ok with it." I said "You know what, let's talk about this later. The sun is out, the water is gorgeous and we are on a beach. Let's enjoy it." he said "Ok but first, Emily told me what you two talked about so I went and got this." he held up a bag, I stepped away from him and opened the bag. Inside was a swimsuit, but not one that I own. I looked up at him and he said "I uh... I didn't want to go through your things, but Emily said you wished you brought one so I bought you one." 

I was confused "You bought me something because I wanted it?" he said "Yes, why do you seem confused?" I said "Well because everything I own I had to get myself including clothes and school supplies. No one has bought me anything since I was like 8." he said, "Well this... getting things just because you want them is something you are going to have to get used to because I am going to spoil you." I blushed and looked at the water "You don't have to." he said "I know, but I want to. I also want to do this." he cupped my chin and turned my head to face him, then he surprised me as he captured my lips in a kiss. God, it was like fireworks, and I melted. Anything I was worried about, Billy caring, my parents and their hate, my mother's infidelity, everything faded away and all I felt was passion, love, and like nothing else mattered at this moment but for me and Nick at this moment, on this beach. 

He pulled away and I was out of breath, but I felt so at peace that I never thought I could ever feel. He said, "Now go change and have fun." I said "Change where? We are at a beach?" he said "Come on." he took my hand and led me to the tree line I said "You're crazy." he said, "You gonna let that new swimsuit go to waste?" I sighed and went behind a tree and changed into this.

I put my clothes in the bag, which he took from me once I reached his side.  I said "I think you had ulterior motives with this swimsuit." he feigned innocence "What do you mean?" I said "Do you see this thing? It's barely fabric." He said, "But you look so good in it." I said "Yeah, ok." and took off running to the water, with him close behind me.
