"Home is not a place, it's a feeling. This was our home and we will defend it to the end."

- Isabella Pevensie

____________

NIGHT HAD SOON FALLEN.

We had managed to cross the stream and towards the other side of the gorge. We had walked a certain amount before we decided to call it a night when it started to get darker. We had collected dry sticks and pile them. As stubborn as I was, I ignored my siblings to not waste my energy on trying to light the fire, which in the end, was a failure because the wood will only start to smoke but no fire will emerge.

Hours had passed and Peter, Edmund and Trumpkin had fallen asleep, while the girls were simply laying down, looking at the night sky. I had my back against the fire as I stare and caress at the ring I had on my finger. In the year that we had been gone, I have missed Nathaniel more than I had missed anyone else. Nathaniel had become more than just a mentor and we experience many battles and events together that I cannot picture myself without him.

"Lucy, you awake?" Susan whispered in order not to wake the others.

"Hmm," Lucy hummed in response.

"Why do you think I didn't see Aslan?" Susan asked as I hear her shift behind me to look at Lucy, I presume.

I hear Lucy shift as well, "You believe me?"

"Well, Bella believes you and we got across the gorge."

"She always believed in me... and I don't know," Lucy paused for a second,

"But how come Bella was able to see him, even when he was moving away?"

"Maybe you didn't really want to."

"You always knew we'd be coming back here, didn't you?"

"I hoped so,"

I hear Susan lay back down, "I finally just got used to the idea of living in England."

"But you're happy to be here, aren't you?" Lucy asked.

I tilted my head to listen, curious of Susan's response,

 "While it lasts,"

The shout of a crowd cause my eyes to snap open. Every passing second, the shouts kept getting louder and angrier as they address somebody. I blinked and turned to look at Peter if he had awaken from the shouts as well when I was no longer with my siblings.

That alarm me and I, immediately, sat up up and look around. I didn't recognize the area as to where exactly I was and I noticed it was still nighttime. To be prepared for anything, I seek my sword, however, it wasn't next to me as I had place it before falling asleep.
