To say Jillian had a plane for us was an understatement. She had a whole freaking private jet! Jenna said it was a small passenger plane. That was definitely an understatement. I stood in awe at the monstrosity as Jillian and Nadia were briefing everyone on safety.
I wasn't in the greatest of moods to be listening, though. After Jillian and I were finished with our discussion, Seth and Kason insisted on carrying on their precious discussion with Nadia. I wanted to get going right away, but by the time Jillian and I made our way upstairs and started looking at supplies to bring with us, the three of them had been down there for a good thirty minutes. I was about to go down and tell them to get their butts upstairs when they all dispersed from the underground room, laughing and carrying on.
How did they all get so buddy-buddy? Seth doesn't trust anyone but me and Kason doesn't even go as far as to do that! Maybe she had some kind of mind control ability like Seth and me. I was shaken from my thoughts when Jenna approached just outside of the jet's staircase leading inside.
"Aislin, I know you need to find your brother, but I'm worried about all of you. Are you sure you can do this on your own?" Jenna asked with concern plastered on her face.
"I know we just look like a bunch of desperate kids, but trust me. We can do this. We're stronger than you think." I reassured her.
She nodded, reluctantly accepting it. "Well, if there's anything else I can do-"
"Actually, I do have a pretty big favor to ask you." She looked at me, waiting for me to go on, "I need you to take Cam with you. She's way too young to go on a mission like this and I can't be responsible for her safety as well as the others' and my own."
Jenna nodded, "Of course I'll take her." She chuckled a bit, "She reminds me of my daughter when she was little. The way she sucks her thumb is so cute." She was smiling at Cam, who was currently sipping on a juice pouch.
"Thank you. I really appreciate it." I smiled.
The others were all getting on board and I stopped Cam, "Hey, sweetie," I smiled at her, "You are going to go with Jenna, okay? She's going to take care of you until we get back. I'll come back as soon as I can."
She looked at me blankly. I wondered if she understood what I was saying, but she then nodded and jumped into my arms. I hugged her back, not realizing how fond I'd grown of her.
"I'm going to see you again. I promise." I said, hoping that was true.
She nuzzled up next to my neck. "Don't trust Kason," she whispered in a small voice. The shock of her statement almost caused me to drop her. This was the first thing she'd said since we escaped and I was starting to think she couldn't talk at all.
I looked at her seriously, "What do you mean? He's okay now." I tried telling her. I figured she didn't like him since he seemed to be the root of most arguments in the group.
I put her down and she shook her head. She motioned for me to lean down and she grabbed my head like she did at the ATM. My eyes widened as my vision suddenly blurred and I was suddenly in a clearing in the woods. I was literally watching myself from the side of the clearing as the vision played out. I couldn't move or speak, only watch the slumped over me as I cried. I heard motion from the other side of the clearing and out of the trees came Kason.
He started speaking to me, saying all kinds of weird things. He was saying Seth was suffering because of me. He kept speaking to a confused looking me and finally approached me, putting his hands to my head like Cam does. I then watched my self fall unconscious as Kason knelt beside me.
My vision blurred again and suddenly I was back to reality. I blinked several times before looking back down at Cam. Her eyes were sad as she looked back at me. "D-did I just see that through your eyes?"
