After we left the police station, we went straight to Jenna's because I didn't really have anything to take with me. It took about thirty minutes of driving down a winding back road before  a big farmhouse came into view. The front was beautiful with a small pond and vibrant flowers lining the porch. A big, red barn was barely visible around the back of the huge house, and the whole place was surrounded by woods. We pulled onto a gravel road leading to the driveway.

This could work, I thought. It appeared very secluded and quiet. It was the perfect place to lie low. Suddenly staying here didn't sound so bad, especially if it meant free food. We pulled to a stop in front of the house and got out of the car. I looked around, lost in thought as Jenna searched on her key ring for the right key.

As she unlocked the door she said, "It may not be much, but it does have electricity and running water." She had a warm smile on her face.

"Are you kidding?!" I said in shock, "This is beautiful!" She just laughed.

"Let me show you around and then we can get started on dinner." She said leading me into a hallway.

She took me into a big room with a black leather couch and a matching love seat. Across the room was a beautiful, dark brown entertainment center with a flat screen television on it. On one side of the wall there was a huge window like the one at the lake house with an ottoman below.

"This is the living room" She said chuckling as I was probably drooling at the gorgeous sight of it.

She then led me down the hall to a big, vintage looking bedroom. "This is my room, yours is upstairs. And here is the main bathroom. There's a smaller bathroom upstairs." She told me as we passed the huge bathroom. It was somewhat modern looking compared to the bedroom. "This house has been in my family for years. I've kept some things the same, but I've done some upgrading as you can see."

We headed back to the stairs towards the front of the house and as we passed the living room again I noticed the fire place with the picture of Jenna and the family that I saw in her mind. We made our way upstairs and came to a stop at a smaller, teenage looking room. It was very modern looking with a full sized bed and a desk to the side. It had a blue and green color theme and a walk-in closet. The best thing though, was the wide window with a clear view of the front yard. It was perfect.

I suddenly felt a wave of sadness rush over me and realized it was coming from Jenna.

"This was her room wasn't it?" I said quietly realization hitting me.

She looked at me with a shocked expression and I noticed too late what I had said. "How did you know about that?" She said, tears filling her eyes.

"I'm sorry. I just saw the picture in the living room and assumed." I lied thinking fast.

Understanding dawned on her and she wiped her eyes and said, "I'm sorry, I haven't been in here much since the accident. It's still very painful.

"I know." I said. She looked at me. "I mean I know how you feel...because of what happened with my parents." I recovered. Man, I had to get better at this. "Um...how did it happen?" I asked, already receiving the answer before she started speaking.

"My husband was picking her up from her school dance. She had looked so beautiful that night. They were on their way back when a drunk driver ran a red light and t-boned them. They were both killed on impact and the driver died on the way to the hospital." Her voice broke.

"I'm so sorry Jenna." I said giving her a look of sympathy. I then saw her getting the call while on duty. She rushed to the hospital with tears in her eyes. She had to identify the bodies. She collapsed when she saw them. Her partner, Gordon, was there holding her and telling her it was going to be okay. Then the memory faded. "Thank you so much for what you have done, Jenna, I know they would be proud of you." I said trying to cheer her up. The thoughts coming from her were almost overwhelming.
