Ink wakes up several hours later to find a change of clothes and to finish the overalls he was attempting to make, but they didn't look great. Error ended up walking up with a start gasping and wiped some tears that were in the corner of his eyesockets before leaning back again as just staring at the ceiling. Ink walks out of the bathroom and goes back to the couch.
"You're up?" Ink questions, starting to sound more like his usual self.
He sits down and picks up his project, starting on it again, occasionally looking at Error in worry.
"Yeah." Was all error said while still looking at the ceiling.
Ink sounded like he was feeling better so that was good. But error didn't move and kept staring trying to will himself to forget what he dreamed about.
He didn't want anyone else to deal with his baggage. Especially not a long-lost friend that he just found again. Ink takes off his scarf and stands up, moving closer to Error. "Here, you can hold on to my scarf." Ink says with a smile.
He did know that Error wasn't as okay as he let on. And he wanted to help him in whatever way he could. Though white was an issue for ink, sometimes staring at the nothingness made error feel better. Maybe they could keep the ceiling white, really who looks at a ceiling for anything.
He finally looked away when the scarf was offered and took it, hugging it. "I w-wish I could t-turn off My emotions r-right now," he said with a sigh.
"Well, I can teach you how to calm down. Honestly, there are not enough pros for it to be worth it." Ink says, sitting near him.
Ink takes out his notebook, writes again, and tears it out, holing it to Error. "This is what I do when I do find myself overwhelmed or with unwanted emotions. Yours won't shut down, but it might help."
Error had ways to calm himself down. Mostly staring at the ceiling till he forgets what's upsetting him. But Ink was trying, and the scarf helped just a little, maybe it was like hugging ink without actually touching him.
He forced himself to sit up and took the note. "I'll t-try... I normally j-just try to m-make myself forget w-what is upsetting me." He said taking the paper from Ink.
Ink thought for a moment, "If it helps, you can keep that scarf. I think I have another."
Ink offers a sweet smile before standing up and walking back to the couch. He plops back down and resumes his work. Error blinked and forced himself to sit up to look at ink "You s-sure? What about y-your notes on the scarf?" He asked since he could see the scribbling on the item.
"Should cross out y-your old address and put this one s-since your not going back there," Error wouldn't let ink back in his parent's clutches if he had a say in it.
"I can just transfer them later." Ink brushed it off. "And yeah, that one isn't going to the new notes. Father can go suck an extra sour lemon and suffer." Ink laughs at his own joke. And thankfully, his cheek looked better.
Error was able to crack a smile at the joke as well. It felt nice having a distraction rather than just trying to forget and not move for hours.
"...If you don't have a-an extra I have some y-you can use." Error didn't have any shortage of scarves.
"Ya know, I always wanted a scarf with, like, a rainbow on it. Always thought it was cool." Ink admits. "But I suppose another tan one will be just as good."
Error looked over to ink while hugging the scarf. It seems this was a good way to calm him down. What shouldn't have been a surprise as his puppets could always calm him down.
