"Your mission this time is that boy. Do you understand?" A deep, muffled voice rang out, and the only response was a slight nod.

"Sorry for making you do things like this. But I'm too old to approach him in any way that is natural and promising."

The young man frowned slightly. He hated it when others thought his cute-looking face wouldn't be able to do this or that in life. He hated the way people always look at him and judge him with just a glance in a few seconds of their long lives.

"Okay. How long is my term?" he asked.

"3 months. Can you do it?" And got an answer that didn't surprise him. 3 months was the longest time for a person under him to complete the assigned task. And of course, with the first time he let his son do this kind of work, he couldn't be sure of his abilities and didn't want to receive the news of failure after only a few days or weeks. 3 months was his limit.

"Got it."

-

Entering a small, but clean and cozy cafe, he ordered a hot latte. Not his taste, but through the countless meetings of his father that he was forced to go to, to learn something as his father said, he gradually got used to the bitter taste on the tip of his tongue with every sip of the brown liquid sliding into the throat.

He took a seat by the window and watched the scenery outside. Compared to the reason he had to go here, where he had never thought he would go in twenty-three years of his life, what he was doing now made him think of himself as a psychopath or something. Sitting by the window of the cafe of the person he had to kill in the next 3 months, it sounded so "romantic".

While he was muttering a name he had to quickly get used to, a steaming latte was served and politely placed on the table. He didn't bother to look up to see who had served him because the scale here was too small and after observing for a while he could know who worked in which position. It was also a survival skill that his father had taught him since he was a child.

"Thanks", he said, then lowered his gaze a bit, his eyes landed on the porcelain cup that was proportioned on a small saucer. He kept looking at the coffee cup as if he had never seen it before in his life. Not until the smoke was no longer hovering did he slowly reach out and lift the small cup.

Still the bitter taste that he had never liked, he reluctantly took a few sips so as not to become too impolite in the shop owner's point of view. Anyhow, he needed to approach him.

He felt someone walking towards him while he was twirling his thumb around the rim of his half-full cup. Must be some guest, he thought. Until the soft footsteps stopped right next to his table, and a small cake and a cup of tea, which he didn't know what flavor, were laid out in front of him.

"I don't order these", he tries to keep his voice from sounding too rude.

But no one answered him. The employee quickly left before she could hear him complain that the place was annoying when he thought he had to leave his seat and return the food. But then his gaze fell on a small piece of paper that was placed on the cake plate.

I saw your distaste grow with each sip of coffee and you didn't even finish it. Probably not to your taste. So I give you this cup of tea, and its accompanying cake, as a way to save some image for our shop even though I know the coffee I made isn't bad. Hopefully, when you get up and leave, you will be able to put on a satisfied smile from the bottom of your heart. Wish you a good day.
