Avry didn't quite know what plagued him to say that to his guardian, though he did it regardless. The tall, perfectly crafted male before him offered a low melodic chuckle.

"What's funny?" Avry wondered, taking the bottle of aloe vera out of Wynter's hand. He placed it back in the fridge to stay chilled for the next time he got hurt.

Wynter beamed brightly, his eyes staying glued to the smaller male's face.

Avry cocked an interested brow and just shook his hand, lightly pushing the taller one out of his way. "Do you eat? or..."

The brunette trailed off only to realize he was still talking to a deaf being, he softly collided his palm to his forehead. "Stay in his line of sight," he muttered sheepishly to himself.

Wynter shuffled on his feet and turned to his person, twinging his head a bit to the side.

Avry caught his eyes again, remaining there like a deer caught in headlights. He pursed his lips off to the side and softly scratched his head, "Do you eat?"

"Are you offering me hospitality, Avry?"

Avry scoffed, "When you ask it like that, it sounds weird - but yes."

"I am."

Wynter smiled and nodded, "Anything I can do to help?"

The brown haired male thought for a moment, still wondering what he could make. He was between having something delicious, but he didn't feel like standing around for an hour or so.

He shrugged, "I'll let you know, take a seat if you'd like."

Wynter's attention drifted from Avry's mouth to scan around the room, his eyes falling on the seats peppered around the pretty granite bar. He softly hummed, not really being used to having such a calm person to watch over. Normally he was given children or the elderly. Only once did he get someone else around Avry's age. A female who changed his whole perspective.

Deciding he wanted to stay close to the male, Wynter leaned against the counter before resting his bottom against the smooth surface. Softly and slowly leaning in to watch his male.

Avry had zoned out into his own world, still going back and forth on what he wanted. Wondering what would even be suitable for the gentle hearted guardian. Was meat a no go? Would sugar be too much, should it be filling or light?

Finally deciding on something to make, something with a more homelike feel. Avry gathered his grey Dutch oven, removing the lid and setting it off to the side. Afterwards he grouped everything he needed near the stove, all the while Wynter watched him with a sort of childlike wonder.

He huffed when he remembered what he needed was up top in one of the cabinets above his head, he whirled around and finally looked at his guardian after a while of barely paying him a lick of attention.

His eyes grew a bit wide as he cocked an interested brow, "Comfy?"

Wynter's head was still tilted off to the side, watching the male like he was his favorite daytime story. Avry grew closer and planted himself before him, it finally registering on the taller male's mind.

"My most sincere apologies, did I not recognize that you said something my dear?" his crystal, glass-like eyes washing over Avry's features yet again.

Avry remained quiet, though began to shake his head. Only to gesture over his shoulder at the cabinet that was ajar across the way. Wynter immediately moved to his feet, letting the shorter male point out what he needed.

Handing him the item, the guardian went to do back where he was and let Avry do what he seemed to love doing. The brunette male unscrewed the top to the smoothened olive oil and poured some in the deep cooking tool. Moving away to start chopping up bright vegetables, soon getting lost in his work once more.

As the Dutch oven began to fill up at the belly, the aroma starting to delicately kiss the two male's sense of smell. Wynter had slowly moved back to his feet and found himself leaning over Avry's shoulder. Watching him in deep amazement.

It was interesting for both male's to equally feel thrown aback by one another, Avry having never had a guardian before whereas Wynter had never had such a calm person to watch over. He rarely talked, rarely moved but when he did it was for a good reason.

With their stomachs full, they had all lounged in the smaller male's living room. Finn playing at their feet and Wynter had drifted off into thought. Eventually Avry had gently fallen into his guardian's side and his face winding up in the crook of his neck.

Wynter stiffened, for each person he guarded before never sleep in front of him. Always going behind a closed door and before he could react, morning was already there and they were up once more.

He let Avry sleep for a bit before softly picking him up, cradling his small form against his own as he walked to the male's room. Finn followed after and jumped up on the bed, watching Wynter set his owner down. The guardian covered him up and made sure Finn was comfortable as well, ultimately moving away to let them both rest. Perching near the window looking out over the city line.

That's when everything changed.

He hadn't recalled exactly what happened after the call time bell rang for the last time, the only thing the comes to mind was the immense pain in his head.

Wriggling in the cables they had hooked up to him, one in particular being hooked up to the monitor beeping beside him. He yanked them off and looked around, it becoming clear that he was in the hospital now.

He let a grunt go and stood to his feet, his attention going to the locked doors. Only for a glint of light to catch his eyes, making him move over to the large window. He could see the city line from where he was above, it looked so nice. Though the delight of the view diminished when the feeling he knew all too well took its place.

He pressed his bruised knuckles to the cold glass, to his surprise the window was stupidly unlocked. So he eagerly pushed against it and the strong midnight wind greeted him like an old friend. Without another thought in his head, he propped his bare feet up onto the window seal and leaped off.

Finally... finally he would be ridded of this shitty life he was provided with. Finally he was free, to be able to do the one thing he had wanted to desperately do ever since he was sectioned.

The fall only lasted a few seconds, or so he thought. Waiting for his brains to squish out on the pavement, to see his eyes go dark for the very last time. He welcomed his fate with opened arms.

A second was all it took for him to realize this fall was talking longer than he expected. Finally becoming fully aware that he was perched across a bare chest. His attention adjusting on the icy crystalized colored eyes staring through his soul. The were so bright yet so piercing and cold with fear.

The two freefell until a pair of large rose-gold wings sprung out and stopped them in place like a pillow. The sound of the large tendons flapping against the wind filled his ears. The male on the bottom with the large outstretched wings planted them on the concrete walkway, his strong grasp held onto the blonde's waist.

The other male noticing the white wristlets that matched the choker around the male's neck. In an instant, they were on their feet and the taller male had the male's face in his hands.

"What were you thinking!" the shaggy black haired male exclaimed.

Through the guardian's frantic state of mind, he was finally able to catch a breath and take a close up look at the shorter male before him. He had a black eye and a bruised-to-hell collarbone. Handprints on his neckline.

The taller male's mouth flew slightly agape.

His eyes finally locking on the blonde's oceanic blue one's, his whole nose was washed pink along with a few parts of his cheeks. The shorter male blinked, his eyes apologizing. Something his mouth couldn't bare to do at the moment.

He was ready to leave his dove, but he wasn't going to let that happen.
