A man walked up to his room to rest and get away from the people around him. He locked the door then sat on his chair.
From a different perspective, a man is trying to go to the other man's room through the balcony.
Moments later, people downstairs heard a scream and went running to check what happened. When they arrived at the man's room, they saw his dead body laying on the floor which made them freeze.
They called the police then Inspector Megure arrived.
"Come now, Inspector Megure, how long are you going to detain my guests?" said the man on the wheelchair "I don't have time for these investigations. Moreover, you have no evidence!"
"Ok, ok! Sir, no matter how much you complain, the deceased was one of your dinner party guests. Manager Yamazaki from the Yatsubishi bank was killed here, could you bear with us for just a little longer?" Inspector Megure tried to reason
"Are you implying that the murderer is still here?"
"That's right!" a new person suddenly said. And that person is Kudo Shinichi "The crime took place in a sealed room that was locked from the inside" he stood next to Inspector Megure "The murderer entered through the balcony from an adjacent window, and escaped the same way"
A teenage girl entered the scene and also stood next to Inspector Megure.
"The ground below the balcony had no traces, and based on that, this murder must have been committed by someone here," Daitan said with a focused look on her eyes
"It is impossible! There must be at least a 10-meter gap from the window to the balcony... how can anyone jump across that?" The man continued to shout
"If one makes use of the roof's eaves... then the distance to the balcony is not more than 2 meters!" -Shinichi
"Humph! That's a naive deduction!" The old man in the wheelchair can't believe a teenager "Then, how could the person leave? If the gap is 2 meters, and the eaves are 10 cm wide, how does one safely return?"
"Before the murderer left the first room, he fixed an end of a rope there. When leaving the second room, he fixed the other end onto the balcony, and the climbed back" -Daitan
"In that case, how does the person untie the rope on the balcony?" Inspector Megure asked the both of them
"That's simple, Inspector Megure" Shinichi looked at him "That end of the rope would have a rod attached to it... and it would hold between the balcony's posts due to constant tension in the rope, so with a little bit of slack... it can be removed! Could you go to the balcony and check? You should find some marks on the spot where the rod was held"
"But... why would Yamazaki wait in a locked room?" -Inspector Megure
"I'm afraid that the murderer told him that he had some important information, and instructed to lock the door from the inside and wait" -Daitan
"That's enough! You're straying from the point! Who killed my best friend Mr. Yamazaki!?" the old man yelled
"Only a person who knows the layout of the house very could have done it... and during that time... could go wherever he wanted, and no one would suspect him..." -Daitan
"He is..." -Shinichi
"He is...?" -Inspector Megure
Everyone is tense from waiting for the both of them to reveal who the murderer is. They raised their arms and pointed at the old man
"It's you, old man!!" they both yelled together
"What kind of voice is this? First of all, my leg still hasn't..." he trailed off nervously
"There is always only one truth..." he said then Daitan suddenly grabbed the globe behind her and threw it at the old man. He avoided the throw and by standing up from his wheelchair
"Master, your leg?!" the maid noticed him standing
"Crap!" he cursed when the truth is out
"Your leg had already healed three months ago! Isn't that so Inspector Megure?" Daitan smiled at the inspector
"Stop acting! Your doctor has already told us everything... Also, we have uncovered everything. You and Yamazaki performed secret money transactions" Inspector Megure said while the old man is looking grim
"Still trying to escape?" -Shinichi
The old man tried to run away but Shinichi kicked the globed and hit the old man to the head
"GOAL!" Shinichi and Daitan cheered then high-fived each other. After doing that Daitan took the handcuffs in her back pocket then put them on the old man. She gestured the policemen to take him
<Time skip> Daitan's POV
They started to take the old man outside while I and Shinichi is still beside Inspector Megure, but outside.
"Oh, you've helped me out again, Kudo-kun and Shimizu-san! It's like this every time, sorry about that..." he hit mine and Shinichi's back. And because Shinichi's upper strength is weaker than mine, he almost got pushed
"No, no... If there is any difficult case, just come and find me-" I elbowed him to remind him that I exist " *ahem* us, The Great Duo- Shinichi and Daitan!"
"It's amazing how you always seem to make yourself cool"
"I am naturally cool, excuse me?!"
"No, you're not!"
"Humph! You're mean!" he crossed his arms on his chest while pouting
"Now, now, big baby. Stop whining and let's go home" I grabbed his collar at the back and then started to drag him "We're going now Inspector Megure!" I waved while not turning back
"Bye!"
