The semestral break came around and so was Red's annual christmas party, which was held the Saturday after the end of classes. Red, actually named Blue Alvarez, who was the guitarist in Robin's little band, invited all students from 10th grade until 12 grade and a bunch of other guys from the nearest all-boys catholic school. It was the party that everyone was looking forward to.
And so that Saturday night, Robin found herself debating between two outfits. Shaking her head at her indecisiveness, she decided to call Isabelle, who thankfully answered at the second ring.
"How do you want me? Slutty sexy or Hot?"
There was a pause from the other line. "I don't think the two should be exclusive. Can't you be both?"
"I can but-- okay, let me rephrase it. Do you want me in a cute slutty dress or in a hot leather jacket?" Robin frowned at the two outfit laid on her bed.
"Just wear whatever you want."
"Because I'll look pretty either way?"
"Because I don't care."
Robin let out a groan. "You should really work on that if you want to keep me." Giving up on asking the other girl for her opinion, she laid down on her bed careful not to wrinkle her clothes. "What are you wearing?"
"Robin, we're not having phone sex." Then the line went dead.
"I wasn't even--!" Stupefied, Robin stared at her phone before throwing it aside and wore her white band tee, leather jacket, and black skinny jeans outfit. She then curled the lower part of her hair and messed with it a little so it only looked like a wave, as opposed to her natural extremely straight hair.
Robin decided to only put on a little bit of lip tint and skip the makeup as she knew it was likely that she'd sweat at some point during the party. She was also really bad at remembering that she was wearing makeup so she almost always end up smudging it. And maybe she also sucked at it.
When she arrived at Red's enormous house, there was already a crowd. She pushed her way through and exhaled when she reached a less crowded space by the fireplace, where she spotted Yohan sitting on one of the love seats.
"Hey." Robin sat on the arm of the seat beside Yohan.
The black-haired girl looked up with a wide smile. "Hey. You just came in?"
Robin just hummed, looking around the room for a certain person. Isabelle has never been late to any school event so Robin guessed that she was just as prompt even at parties.
"How are you and Isabelle?"
"What?" Robin's gaze went back to meet Yohan's. She still hasn't spotted the brunette. "Oh. Umm... same old, same old."
Perhaps she was just being paranoid but Robin thought Yohan knew something when the latter narrowed her eyes and said, "Uhuh" while slowly nodding her head. Maybe Isabelle told her given that they were best friends but Robin wouldn't risk it so she just rolled her eyes and changed the topic.
"What about you? We haven't talk in a long while. Are you doing good?" It was true. Ever since their breakup they never really got to talk seriously or just check in with each other. All they did was playful banter and relentless teasing. Now that Robin realized this, she felt slightly worried for the other girl somehow, and this might've reflected on her face as Yohan groaned and slumped in her seat.
"You should stop being caring with me if you don't want me to fall in love with you again." Yohan delivered it in a teasing manner but they both knew she meant it even just a little.
